The first year my Girlfriend got my brother a Xmas prezzie it was a top she’d got from the charity shop she works at. He liked the item but even more so the fact that she’d paid very little for it.

Having someone close to me who suffers with it very badly, I now find myself getting annoyed with people who tidy up a bit or have things in a sensible order saying that they’re really OCD. That’s really, really not it.

We were just discussing yesterday people who talk too much and when you slowly back away as you try to extricate yourself from the conversation, and they just start walking towards you.

Once you remove the cellophane there’s no text on the artwork whatsoever. Mum worked at the library and when they got a copy of it in no one knew what it was or how to file it. Mum just casually said ‘Oh that’s the new Lemon Jelly album’, and they all knew that she was the coolest person there.

There’s a UFC fighter called Gable Steveson who escaped prosecution for rape on these exact grounds. It was a different state where the loophole has since been closed I believe.

Yeah, my oldest brother is only a couple of years away from Dad’s age when he passed. I imagine that’s going to feel very strange.

Yeah, things like that are rubbish. I recently realised that at some point in the past year or so, I’d passed the point when I’d had more of my life without my Dad than with him. Never really seems fair.

Just been on a drive today and saw two separate kestrels doing their hovering thing. Very cool.

Have ever been to Gigrin Farm in Wales? It’s a Red Kite feeding centre. The birds are all wild but know when the feed goes out so turn up every day. Anything from 300 to 600 at a time. Really impressive.

Don’t want to be mean to a youngster but I didn’t think kid in it was particularly good, which was a shame because it was a pretty big role in a major movie and could have been a chance for someone to really shine.

I remember seeing Terfs on Twitter saying almost exactly this about a girl so that she could get an unfair advantage, and presumably start raking in big bucks, in the world of women’s Handball.

Two maps of the USA. One shows the location. Of mysterious cases of missing persons. The other shows the countries largest cave networks. There is a large crossover of these two locations.

I actually had a reputation at work for hating him back when I just ambivalent to him. I was always just baffled by how such a non-entity was a seemingly permanent fixture on the office radio.

Because of the way she would sort through stock at her shop, my girlfriend’s watch would sometimes announce to her how many lengths she’d swam.

I always proudly remember my girlfriend being complimented on her outfit at a wedding we went to. After, I asked how much it cost and she said ‘£10, including the shoes.’

Reminds me of when we went to the Martin Parr photography exhibition and spotted our friend & her daughter in one of the pictures. She had no idea she was on display in the city gallery.

In my experience the opposite is true. The most ardent flat-earther I’ve ever met also warned of the ‘transgender agenda’.

Lamb samosa at a place I used to pass on the bus when I went into Manchester. Moved house so didn’t pass by for a long time so made special a trip there, on foot, several miles on a very hot day. Place had turned vegetarian so no lamb samosa ever again. Then had several miles to walk home.

I only have one other person on my team at work and she’s Lithuanian. Her surname is long but since she’s learned a whole other language I figure I should at least know how to say her name. Wrote it phonetically and said good morning and goodbye in full until I no longer had to check my note.

Black & white cartoon showing two dogs in a garden. One is resting in a kennel. The other is sat outside wearing the cone of shame saying “I have an enormous favour to ask you”.

11 years since this one was put up where I work.
A wet floor warning sign has been put on a table. Stuck to it is a sheet of paper with the words “Warning: Freshly painted wall may be freshly painted”.

We used to have a cat next door called Vinny. Super chilled and definitely my fave cat ever. Now we have Milo from two doors along. Absolute assassin and likes to leave his kills near our back door.

Don’t forget that you can change it depending on what kind of work the person is looking for. If they want to work on games then lead with that. Comics, then emphasise that.

I hate when people say yourself, or your yourselves, when what they mean is you. Like, ‘I’m going to send a confirmation email to yourself.’ I think they think it makes them sound clever but it really doesn’t.

Used to work with a woman who had English as her second language and her go to word for something she liked was ‘nice’. Fine until she tells you she just watched Saw 2 and asked for an opinion she said ‘Yeah, it was nice.’

I often forget how lucky we are in the UK that pretty much all galleries and museums are free to enter. I’m not sure how it happened but about 20 years ago it was announced that they’d all be free from then on. They welcome donations but it’s always voluntary.

I’m actually planning on watching again for the first time since it was released. Due to the setting it should make more sense to watch it in English but I seem to recall the casting for Ray being, as you say, interesting.

I’ve seen one owl just once in the tree in our back garden a few years ago and I check all the time in the hope of seeing one again. Genuinely, less than a minute before opening this app I was at the back door shining a torch up there. No luck this time.

A workmate of mine wrote an episode of Shaun the Sheep along with a few other shows. He had no idea that he had his own IMDB page until I showed him in the break room. Only had a few credits on there but he looked at one and said ‘I never worked on that’.

You can only assume that he spends as much time in garages as she does. Doesn’t seem to be making a living as a lawyer at this point so must be doing something else to pay the bills. Spotted the thing with the tyre marks and extrapolated from there.

It 100% made for a better scene than him just explaining it, but you can tell from the way he asked that he already knew what her answers would be.

Observation (spoiler): At the end he’s frustrated because he wanted to win his first case without any help, however he didn’t actually need her help. The classic scene with Lisa as a witness where she shows her extensive car knowledge; he clearly knew all of that too or he wouldn’t have asked her.

Easy one for me as Sanjuro is my favourite film, regardless of it being B&W or colour.
Black and white image from the film Sanjuro. Two samurai stand facing each other, watched by a group or 8 or 9 other samurai standing behind them.
