So I’ve made more progress on this piece, and I showed it to my kid. His response: “that color is spectacular!” And if you knew how brilliant an artist he is - especially with color - you’d have some idea of how hard I cried; that was the biggest damn compliment EVER.

Thank you all for the kind messages.

My dad was hit by the truck in New Orleans tonight. He is stable and okay, by the grace of god. He’s going into surgery with 2 broken legs.

His chair is circulating the news now as he was right beside the truck. He couldn’t get off the street and was thrown out of his chair, thankfully beneath gun shots. A nice police officer marked him and told him he would be alright while they helped other more injured folks. He is stable and is going into surgery for his legs.

He is so lucky to be alive. And my mom and I were so grateful to find him and discover that he was alive, because we feared the worst for hours.

He is so lucky to be alive, and we are so grateful as many families here did not get the news we did.

My dad is a fighter, and loves to live life. We are so grateful. So grateful.

Update for context: Irre and ele flew home yesterday and are safe and sound from all of this chaos, thank god.

“We are trying to get any help or resources for my dad to get his mobility equipment back and no one will speak to us. All of my parents money and credit cards are in fbi custody as well as my dads wheelchair, all of his medication and his mobility accessible cell phone. No social worker to talk to. No victim advocate to talk to. The FBI hung up on us. We haven’t been called back from the victims advocate . We need help.”

If you have any leads on a new motor wheelchair for the victim of the New Orleans attack via Instagram
