Sharing. Climate change is real. But we CAN do a lot to fight it -- and in ways that save money compared to old ways of doing things. But that's hard. It requires waking up a little and learning stuff, then doing stuff (like electing the people who don't want to wreck the world). DO IT ANYWAY.

I really like "Spider-Man: Brand New Day." Not like I loved "The Odyssey" or "Project Hail Mary," but I really enjoyed it like I enjoyed "Supergirl." I did not think my theater pennies misspent. ^_^

Opinion: In my view, it's important to note that Dr. Okorafor's Africanfuturism aesthetic highlights African science fiction, etc., without the framing of the Diaspora. I love it. But I do ALSO love Milton Davis' MVMedia and its Afrofuturism, Steamfunk, and Sword and Soul. Both enrich my world.

Very good to see, in my opinion. (I do have a bias: dismantling racism and promoting equality are goals that my religious denomination, the United Methodist Church, pursues as Biblical. And you can't legally discuss how to break four centuries of racism, and more of misogyny, if it's outlawed.)

We are also taught that unregulated monopolies are OK and that it's OK to block competition (e.g., the Offal Offices stream of no-bid contracts to the President's friends), even though these are ANTI-CAPITALIST. Late stage capitalism is kleptocracy, not capitalism, and performs like a fascist cult.

3/x Governments are always conpromises and prejudices constantly grow anew, yet lots of the developed world balances things with both human rights protections AND free markets with anti-monopoly regulations. In the U.S. we are taught that this is impossible and to ignore the rest of the world.

2/x The "anti-Communist" ploy -- while mimicking Communist Stalin's disregard for human rights lives -- is straight out of the 1930s rise of Nazi Germany. The Nazis mixed it with antisemitism and called it anti-Bolshevism. In the early 1950s we saw the same totalitarianism in U.S. McCarthyism.

Honestly, from today's "ethnic cleansing" by ICE (genocide) to the midnight knock on the door and illegally "disappearing" people without a public trial, many GOP leaders favor Stalin's Communist tactics.
