An old FOOL @oldguy243.bsky.social · 29/05/2026Ghost! Or what ever, this cat just showed up. Now is my new best friend. 020
An old FOOL @oldguy243.bsky.social · 25/04/2026Interesting thunderheads over the Midwest of the U.S. Taken by one of my U.S. contacts from an Airbus A220, I think! 130
An old FOOL @oldguy243.bsky.social · 16/01/2026My attempt to capture, what I felt was interesting light filtered through trees. 171
An old FOOL @oldguy243.bsky.social · 24/11/2025Wow, this is what happens when you forgea@@ t the bread dough that was left in the oven to rise in a plastic container and you decided to preheat the oven to 400°F. The container was 12" tall with a lid. Oops! 010
An old FOOL @oldguy243.bsky.social · 24/09/2025On the way to bring in bird feeder, I took a picture of this animal feeding on Moon Flowers. 030
An old FOOL @oldguy243.bsky.social · 18/08/2025Oh yes it is when you keep two separate bank accounts. My allowance buys lots of tools. Now if only I had the skill required to make something. A birdhouse maybe? 260
An old FOOL @oldguy243.bsky.social · 10/08/2025A wild cat that occasionally deposits its hair on the cushions. Frankly, I wish I could befriend this cat. But not to be, the wife is allergic to the hair. I am sure it resides up the street, as it is in good health. 250
An old FOOL @oldguy243.bsky.social · 04/07/2025Josh, you mentioned dead Ash. I worked as a tree climber, took down a dead Ash 12 yrs ago. I still have boards and live edge to be used. The railing pictured is of the Ash, no stain applied. Polyurethane finish. 170
An old FOOL @oldguy243.bsky.social · 19/06/2025Crazy the things an old fool loves. I remember in about 1985 brushing past this Walnut tree when plowing for a vegetable garden. The stem was about 8" dia. back then. The cast iron thing, I Googled it, turns out it is an oil lamp, about 1810 era. I have had it for 76 years. Crazy, old things! 030
An old FOOL @oldguy243.bsky.social · 15/06/2025An evening Cumulus. It was the light on it, that prompted the taking of the picture. If I was a pilot, I would be flying a biplane in and around it for fun. But, not today! 130
An old FOOL @oldguy243.bsky.social · 14/06/2025I am not great at woodworking. First fitting of the plant stand. Best joinery I have ever done. The shelves made from waste cedar picked up at the sawmill. Band sawed into rough size, then hand planed to smooth and bring it to final dimension. 1/2 120
An old FOOL @oldguy243.bsky.social · 11/06/2025Just a note. It is so satisfying to learn to use tools of the past. Here I have used a Stanley No 5 manufactured in 1927 to make a board shelf from a rough cut Cedar slab. 020
An old FOOL @oldguy243.bsky.social · 11/06/2025My common water snake of the day. Sent to me from a follower in your Indiana. 060
An old FOOL @oldguy243.bsky.social · 28/05/2025A fungus, it appears every year in nearly the same location near a large Black Cherry tree. 010
An old FOOL @oldguy243.bsky.social · 16/03/2025Good morning all. Please view the pictures of an obviously ill bird. If any of you can tell me your thoughts on this, I would like to know. Thanks! 330
An old FOOL @oldguy243.bsky.social · 11/03/2025Birds and a white tailed gray squirrel. An everyday activity under the bird feeders! 020
An old FOOL @oldguy243.bsky.social · 28/02/2025Ok. I must admit you guys have opened the very old eyes to try to see fungus that I would not have noticed if it were not for your posts here in BlueSky. 120
An old FOOL @oldguy243.bsky.social · 28/02/2025Crazy Gray squirrel with a snow white tail. Sent to me by a friend in Indiana. 010
An old FOOL @oldguy243.bsky.social · 26/02/2025We see this in an area of the flower raised beds under pine trees. It gets morning sun only and is always black. I have no idea what it is. 320
An old FOOL @oldguy243.bsky.social · 25/02/2025Jeez, on the way, taking the trash to the curb. Obviously, I am not a photographer. Just thought this to be a bit crazy. It is light created by an engineers train lantern pointed at pine tree. Oh well, you never know what an old fool might find interesting! 010
An old FOOL @oldguy243.bsky.social · 19/02/2025Interesting isolated ice formation on a Dogwood tree branch. Nothing else like it on the tree. There was a wet snow fall the last 24 hrs. 020
An old FOOL @oldguy243.bsky.social · 07/02/2025So many decent people died during WWII to defeat the Hitler's of the world. Today, those Hitler's have returned in the form of Trump. How can decent people of the US not physically end this scourge upon democracy. Read, Damn Lucky, by Kevin Maurer for understanding. Below, read the last pages. 020
An old FOOL @oldguy243.bsky.social · 07/02/2025Thanks, it is not amazing. The wood is Ash. I did arborist work years ago and took down a 75' tree for a customer. Cut it into 8' logs, brought it to Sawyer who made it into lumber. It has been stored in my barn for 10 + yrs. The railing pictured was the project. The box is from a scrap piece. 010
An old FOOL @oldguy243.bsky.social · 06/02/2025I find the real skill is learning to correct mistakes so they are hidden or appear to be part of the finished piece! I have so many great tools, just lack the skills required to make use of them. I make nothing that is perfect! No problem, enjoy the effort and outcome. 140
An old FOOL @oldguy243.bsky.social · 25/01/2025A cat story. About 3 years ago, this cat shows up at my rural property and then runs off. I put food out that evening. Next morning it is on the porch and as I approach, it rolls over and scratch his stomach. And feed him a little more. A friend asked, can I have the cat? But of course! Lounging! 110
An old FOOL @oldguy243.bsky.social · 23/01/2025Corydon, Indiana, USA. Taken by the pixel 6, October 2024. There is quite a bit of this in the Corydon to New Albany area. 020
An old FOOL @oldguy243.bsky.social · 16/01/2025Oh very funny! In my collection of things that long ago should have been discarded, are tools manufactured by hand in the 19th century. Worse than that, I still use them. The picture is of a hand made bench with tools of the early 20th century. 110
An old FOOL @oldguy243.bsky.social · 15/01/2025My birds and squirrels this moon day in Southern Indiana, USA. 010

An old FOOL @oldguy243.bsky.social · 14/01/2025Evening in Southern Indiana tonight at 23:20 hrs, 21°F. A bit of haze, still a very bright moonlit night. 110

An old FOOL @oldguy243.bsky.social · 01/01/2025Visited with friends for New Year's dinner. The cats are asking, "Who are these strangers in OUR HOUSE?" Later, just enjoying watching birds on a television screen. That's all folks 000
An old FOOL @oldguy243.bsky.social · 04/12/2024Interesting, the comments. My wife, thank goodness, helps me to stay on task. I often need to swear at myself to remain focused. Normal people find it difficult to understand. Also, I seem to focus better when I am in motion or doing a dangerous task. Such as working in trees. If something 1/3 130

An old FOOL @oldguy243.bsky.social · 17/11/2024A southern Indiana moonlit night at 23:16 hrs. Not a great picture taken with a Pixel 6 through some cloud cover. 020
An old FOOL @oldguy243.bsky.social · 15/10/2024I cut lawns for people, ahh that was until last year. Now the wife volunteers me and I cannot charge a dime for insurance reasons. These were over much of the shaded area of the yard. So, my fungi of the day! 150
An old FOOL @oldguy243.bsky.social · 09/10/2024A couple of, what I thought were interesting mushrooms. 020
