Goodnight from me and this ridiculous borb. #birds

Mourning dove sits on my feeder. It is very round and is admiring itself in the feeder camera, no doubt. Looks like it has nary a brain in its feathered head. I love it deeply.

Hello. I’m alive and mostly well although old and plagued by sciatica and stuff. Mostly enjoying the summer except for that day when a surgeon cut a thing off my face. That wasn’t that fun. Lots of birds and walks and swimming this month.

Northern flicker woodpecker is feeding its babies who are sticking out of their nest in the trunk of a dead tree. Very cute birdies!

We had a hell of a sunset last night.

A sunset that looks like the sky is on fire. Deep orange.

A pair of Baltimore oriels are pretending they’re hummingbirds and snacking at my hummingbird feeder. Here’s the male-Cal. #birds

Male Baltimore Oriel on my feeder. His body is mostly bright orange while his head and part of his wings are black. A very handsome fella but clearly misguided as he’s in a hummingbird feeder.

Two woodpeckers. One red bellied, one Downy. Both hungry.

Sunset Although you could probably guess that from looking at the pic. Actually, there is one other thing it could be- or two if you count nuclear devastation.

Gorgeous sunset from my front door. There are bands of color and light created by the clouds that makes the sky look striped.

It’s 24/7 politics over on Bluesky . Sick of it all. I think I’m starting to detach from humanity a bit. Endless squabbles and misery. I like #birds and #dogs

Very rotund mourning dove sits on my feeder

Ridiculous shaggy elderly medium sized mixed breed tan and black dog looks into the camera .

This is Jeff. Some folks don’t like Bluejays because they’re common in these parts and kind of bossy , but I love they because they’re friendly and noisy.

A bluejay sits on my birdfeeder. He is a variety of shades of blue. Behind him you can see the Frozen Wasteland of Massachusetts.

Frankie The Dog is still around and will turn 15 in February!

A very shaggy tan and black dog sitting on the couch. He is ridiculous.

Meanwhile- I’ve gotten to know lots of birds…

Extreme closeup of a bright red male cardinal on my feeder. Snowy background makes him really stand out.

Female cardinal in foreground - snowy trees are behind her. She’s a pale yellowish color with a bright orange beak.

A woodpecker sits in my feeder. It’s showing off the bright red crest on its head!

This guy thinks he’s a hummingbird. Landed on my hummingbird feeder.

This Baltimore Oriel landed on my Hummingbird Feeder. He’s mostly bright orange with black markings on face and wings. Gorgeous.

Our dog has vestibular syndrome, possibly due to middle ear infection. It is markedly better after treatment but has left him with a rather endearing head tilt. He sti has issues walking down stairs- fear mostly I think. We now call him “Tilty” or “Tilt A Whirl”.
