In this installation, a curved screen becomes an evocative lightshow of ever-changing shapes, colours, and shadows, created through reflection and refraction of light. While the mind perceives solid forms and architectural structures, the viewer knows they’re witnessing only fleeting projections.

At the centre of ‘Overdeepening’ (2018), commissioned by Amorepacific Museum of Art, Seoul, are two half-rings that appear as full rings when completed by their reflections. The resulting illusory rings seem to traverse the reflective surfaces of the mirror and the pond.

Published in conjunction with the 1998 exhibition 'Fotografier at Bild Museet,' Umeå University, this book features 'The landscape series' (1997), a collection of 30 C-prints. Printed in black and white on yellow paper, the series reflects Olafur’s early exploration of photography.

Covering the gallery wall like a textured tapestry, 'Moss Wall’ (1994) is composed of reindeer moss, a lichen native to northern latitudes. When dry, it shrinks and fades; when watered, it expands and releases an earthy, pungent scent. The work is on view at @aucklandartgallery until March 23.

These two photographs are part of Olafur’s interest in producing a visual archive of different locations and their changing conditions. The images capture the same portion of a landscape exposed to contrasting weather phenomena. ‘Untitled’, 2002, is at Repetto Gallery, Lugano, until April 11.

'Your disappearing garden’, 2011, explores movement, time, and landscape through a room-sized installation of obsidian rock filling the gallery's space. This work brings a fragment of Iceland’s highlands into the exhibition, inspired by Olafur's hikes through the obsidian fields of Hrafntinnusker.

This floor pattern is based on a two-dimensional interpretation of three-dimensional quasi-bricks. Overhead, mirrored ceilings extend the visual effect of the geometric arrangement. 'Frost activity' 2004, was first exhibited at Hafnarhús in Reykjavik, and later at ARoS Aarhus Kunstmuseum in Denmark.
