be honest—how much of your design process looks like this? drop your ratio: thinking vs. designing.

it's time for a comeback. in recent years, the industry has written scripts for at least 2 seasons of silicon valley. how many times did you watch it btw?

Plot twist: Siri wasn't born at Apple 2010: Siri launches as an independent app 2011: Apple buys it for $200M 2011: iOS 5 launches with Siri built-in Sometimes the best features are acquired, not built. The original app was actually way more powerful 👀

Looking at Sigma's camera UI after using Sony: It's like comparing Windows 95 to iOS. No endless menus. No button chaos. Just clean design. Why isn't this the industry standard yet?

Before Apple Watch. Before Fitbit empire. Before step counting was normal. Nike Fuel Band made fitness feel like a game. Failed as a product. Succeeded as a vision. Reminder: The first version of the future rarely wins. But it shows us where to go. ✨

iOS 18 Photos app design is good. But it's a bad redesign. Sounds contradictory? Let me explain: Good design: Improves things Good redesign: Improves without disrupting You can nail the first And still fail the second. Breaking muscle memory needs more justification than "it's better"☝️

Just watched Dan Bricklin tell the VisiCalc origin story. Mind-blowing how one daydream in MBA class changed computing forever. The best part? It started with the most relatable pain: Manual recalculations in spreadsheets . A thread about seeing the invisible problems 🧵

Pajamas are productivity killers. After 4 years of working remotely, my unbreakable rule is: Dress like you're in the office. That's it. That's the secret. Your outfit is your office. Choose wisely!

"People need more features" is a trap. Teams add features to: • Drive new sales • Match the competition • Please loud users What each feature actually costs: • Endless bug fixes • Increasing support demands • Rising technical debt Balance feature count & simplicity to build a great product.

Apple Fitness achievements are peak UI design. Perfect mix of: • Visual reward • Progress visualization • Emotional design • Animation craft Making people want to exercise just to collect pretty badges? That's design power.
