The cold water of the lake seeped through his fur, but Sapphire no longer had the strength to deal with it. After the darkness, the moonlit night felt like daytime, and the air seemed to be fresher than ever.
Suddenly a loud splash cut through the silence. The dragon saw a familiar figure swiftly approaching, scattering water in all directions. In an instant, Emerald was tightly embracing him with her wings, snuggling up to his neck.
”I was afraid something had happened... You were gone for so long! Is everything okay?”
The dragon’s strength completely left him, he rested his head against her hair and closed his eyes wearily.

The summer sun shone brightly and gently, the warm breeze bent the grass, rustling the fur on the shoulders. Flocks of small birds flew over from time to time, greeting the new day with morning songs, while a bit ahead, the sound of cheerful children’s laughter rang out.
“Is it… real?”
A brief silence hung in the air.
“Does it really matter?”
