I loved that album as a kid but it definitely scared me shitless every time I listened to it,

I have so many 5 minute clips saved that I keep telling myself I’ll trim down, as only like 2 minutes of them are relevant.

I’m very much looking forward to their refresh this edition ✨

Then there’s stuff like Starfield, where every location feels like it was created to house a specific mission. Nothing feels organic or real. It’s a carefully designed obstacle course. Anyway, stay tuned for more casual observations about 13 year old games.

One thing I like about GTA 5 (yes, very topical I know) is that you can tell the city was designed to exist seperately to the game’s missions. There are cool locations that make the city feel more alive and real that aren’t used in the story. They exist because they would exist in a real city.

I’ve not played D&D in a few years as it’s not a system I have much affection for, but… All that new Warcraft content is mighty tempting! With my weekly 40K game I can’t really run it myself right now though. Anyone planning on GM’ing it? Orc Warrior LFG 👀

So I hear! I only played one of them back then and I don’t remember it very well. It was one of the spin-offs, Interceptor I think. I didn’t play a “proper” XCOM until the remake.

I wonder when that happened? When did I lose my appetite for new media experiences? 🤔 Part of is impatience I think. My ADHD brain thinks “Why be bored while I struggle to get into something unfamiliar when I could be doing something I know is fun right now?”

As I get older I seem to just stick to what I already know I like. Right now I’m playing Total War Warhammer 3 again. Where I’m about to hit 1000 hours played 😗 Meanwhile, I’m replaying GTA5. A game I’ve played through three times across three different consoles.

As a teen, and into my early twenties, I really felt like I wanted to play every new shiny video game. But these days I seem to just play and replay the same familiar games. At most it’s stuff like Zero Company where it’s an unofficial XCOM spin-off. Or Dawnwalker which is basically the Witcher.

I’m in my late-30s and every September I still feel a spike of anxiety. Thankfully it’s always followed by overwhelming relief when I remember I don’t have to go back to school.

I decided to play Wingman (basically a poor girl’s Ace Combat) in VR last night. It was fun! And very immersive! The headache I got after one mission was immersive too 😬 I should use my VR headset more. I’ve definitely not used it enough to justify how much I paid for it 😗

Aaah I getcha. Thank you 💜 I mostly played Demon Hunter in Legion and that also felt like being part of the main story in a strong way. When I later played through Legion as hunter and warrior it just didn’t compare. Still a lot of fun though.

Yeah I’m the same. Most stuff on my PC I play with a PS5 controller.

A couple of y’all are current World of Warcraft players, right? I’ve got a question for you. If I came back, I’d have a few expansions to pick from to level up through. What’s the best one post Battle for Azeroth? 🤔 For reference my favourite expansions are Burning Crusade and Legion.

Yeah! It looks gorgeous doesn’t it? I watched that new Blizzcon video last night where they specifically show off the new fog, water, and lighting. All three look incredible.

💜💜💜 I started playing at launch and played until mid-Cata. Then I came back for Legion and stayed until the middle of Battle for Azeroth where I got bored again. I’ve not been interested since. Nothing has ever captured that magic and wonder of vanilla, but Forever looks like it really might do ☺️
