As a subscriber you pick & match what you want to hear about: which type of updates, and which sites on the status page. There's a Subscribers tab too, so you can see who's confirmed, pending, or bounced, add people manually, resend confirmations, & export to CSV.

It's double opt-in, so no address gets added without permission. Flap protection compacts a burst of up/down/up into one email instead of ten. One-click unsubscribe, no login. Hard bounces & spam complaints remove themselves. 🔒

This one took us a bit longer to ship, because email was just too expensive. Letting anyone on the internet subscribe to a public page means you're on the hook for the volume, and the math never worked. Until now: we moved our email to Cloudflare & the cost dropped enough to make it viable. 💸

Before we serve any cert we check the private key matches it, that it covers your domain, & that it hasn't expired. Private keys are encrypted at rest & never downloadable.

Two ways to do it: upload a cert + private key from your internal PKI, org CA, or Cloudflare Origin CA. Or download an origin cert we generate & trust it in Cloudflare. The handshake validates either way. ✅

For an HTTP getter that's a backend round trip per connection. So we built a small Caddy module that caches those lookups in-process. On a hit it's a map lookup, microseconds, no network. 💡

Under the hood, Caddy fetches that certificate from our backend over HTTP. Building it, we hit a catch: certmagic, Caddy's cert library, asks for the certificate on every single TLS handshake, even though it almost never changes.
