It hurt when my mum refused to believe the story my classmate told me at school about their guard chickens that stopped a robbery. The chickens climbed the door and warded off the robbers with regular broomsticks, after which they remained there as sentries. I was 7. Tomi, you're a big liar!

There were 3 streets accessible from the roundabout. Dude said, 'Nah, I don't even stay in the estate. We passed my street a while back. I just enjoyed the songs'. We were quiet for a bit then burst into laughter and said goodnight.

We sang till we walked into my estate, then stopped at a mini roundabout within the estate. I stood with him. We decided to sing one last one for the road. Then we shook hands and I asked him, ' which of the streets do you stay?'

Funny enough, we were headed in the same direction. I walked ahead for a little bit, then let him catch up while still singing. Yes, both of us. He caught up and talked very briefly about how much we love country music and Don Williams, after which we continued singing.

I see your 'on their way' and raise you a 'getting up by 5am in Lagos, Nigeria' is late. You could miss everything and spend hours in traffic. You leave the house by 5am so that before 8, you'd have beaten the traffic and gotten to the office to dress up or finish dressing up.
