Sneak peak! This is the cover of the first chapter of my comic. On the left is from when I first started in December of last year, and in the right was what I completed just a couple days ago! Seeing them side by side real proves to me how much I’ve grown in just that little bit of time

Centered in the frame stands our protagonist of which the comic is named after: Blue. He is facing the audience, but not looking at them directly. He is weirdly thin and lanky with all of his hair pushed to one side covering his left eye. In his right ear he is wearing a hearing air. His exposed eyebrow is thin and wormy like the rest of him with a piercing punched through the end of its tapered tail. There is a dark mark in the center of his tense frown implying a gap between his front teeth. He is terrified and staring into the far distance.
His face is pale with many freckles and moles.

Blue wears a very punk but immature outfit. Most of which is very form fitting accentuating his thinness. He has on two shirts- a white long sleeve under shirt with a short sleeve tee pulled over. In the center of the tee is a graphic of a smiley face: a large circle with a wide grin and two dot eyes. It’s cracking from years of use. The shirt is a little short exposing his checkerboard patterned belt.

Blue also wears a dark stone on a thin cord around his neck. His pants are dark with decorative symbols: on his left is the anarchy symbol (the letter “A” marked messily over a circle) and on his right are three tapered lines invoking the claw marks made by a monster.

He is also wearing fingerless gloves and holding a pistol down at his side with stiff arms.

Behind him is a spotlight pilling the viewers focus. He is sounded by a dark shadow of deciduous trees. Even farther back is a faded silhouette of three figures.

Below it all in big blocky font is the title: BLUE

Bro why is everything so thin? Thin line-work and thin characters. Blue’s pose is stiff and unintentionally uncomfortable. He is like an oddly proportioned giraffe with a bulbous head. I was very unsure of myself making this cover and it shows.

The new cover is an obvious glow up.

Its main structure is the same: Blue in the middle with the dark trees and human silhouettes. A forth has been added to the group. A small child based on their size and pigtails. They rise behind him like a mist.

The pose looks more proportional and natural here with thick distinctive lines helping pull Blue from the background and himself. The shading and use of color has also (imo) improved bringing in more texture and balance.

Blue’s over shirt is longer- baggier falling farther down his arms and waist hiding the once visible belt underneath. His hair holds more shape with the iconic “duck butt” in the back. On his hands he wears the dark gloves, but now they have a (poorly assumed) graphic of hand bones bringing up the punk factor. Did I mention his nails are painted? Very edgy and cool. Also added is a camouflage pattered school bag he wears over both shoulders for maximum security.

Some text has been added as well. At the top we read “a graphic novel by Malakai Lynnlee”. The word “graphic” has been emphasize. At the bottom is a mark of caution.
“WARNING: contains things you don’t want to see”

This warning starts white, but slowly degrades into red stains.

Overall the mood is very dark and spooky letting you know this won’t be a feel good story.

She’s very cute in her icon displayed. The rainbow emoji confirms it.

Her icon is a (digital?) drawing of her head. Her short fur is like a soft peach and she is wearing a small turtle in a bed of ruffles on her head. The turtle (in all respects) even looks like a lady’s brimmed hat complete with a ribbon around the back of their bright shell. The turtle seems pleased about the arrangement.

Despite this abundance of cuteness, Chiitan looks as determined as always.
