Boo! It's spooky season, and our Patreon members have chosen the perfect pet for this month's feature... the Shadeo!

Happy (belated) Mid-Autumn Festival from Kaylune! We hope you had your fill of mooncakes and other delicious food. We'll see you on the 1st/5th for the next monthly update! (Bunlet meteor by tomo)

A blue baby Leporin is drawn over a meme image. It rests in the middle of a pit, with an arrow saying, "impact crater" and another saying, "from the moon??"

These pets' special colors, the Luminous Leporin and the Faint Felyve, both have a touch of the celestial about them... Kaylune's name is more than just aesthetics, we're planning on incorporating the heavens not only through our pets' appearances, but our lore as well. Look forward to it! 🌟

The Faint Felyve is greyish-blue, with golden starry details including shooting star. The Luminous Leporin is pearlesque, mostly white with hints of purple and blue. Text beside each says, "i can be your starry knight" "....or yuor moonlight".

August's monthly update included a questionnaire, and we received over 50 answers! We're so grateful towards everyone who took the time to respond, and the data will help us when developing Kaylune.

This year, International Rabbit Day falls on September 26, but we’re celebrating a little early with the Leporin and its baby form, the Bunlet!

On a cyan background, a blue band with a circle runs vertically. Navy and white text says, "The Leporin" with subtext saying, "Tiny but mighty, Leporin aren't afraid to wield their whiskers as weapons in the sinister forests of Paragon City." A blue Leporin—a lagomorph-like creature with scalloped ears, ribbon-esque whiskers, and a long flat tail—and its baby form, the Bunlet, are featured inside the circle. A magenta ribbon runs horizontally behind it.

forms.gle/taJsZBFqJaXt... Kaysona Bearar base and Kaytropolis starter set by Love Silhouetted pets by queijac and tomo This month will be a quiet one as we work on preparing for the Patreon launch, but keep an eye out for the announcement on that front as well as next month's monthly update! 🌠

A Kaytropolitan yellow Bearar says: "With the arrival of the second roadmap, we're looking for more info from future Kayrthians! Please consider filling out this form; there are only 3 questions!"
An arrow points at a QR code.

More text reads:
"Kaylune is also planning a Patreon launch for the end of the month!

As a site in development, having consistent feedback from a core of invested future users will be truly helpful.

We're still hammering out the benefits, but you'd be part of a group getting to peek at WIP features, vote on polls, and more.

Kaylune's second roadmap is here! It covers our objectives from June - December 2026.

Text says:
Kaylune: 2nd roadmap

Kaylune is an upcoming virtual pet site, with three gameplay goals: exploration, storytelling, and pet bonding.

Originally developed in the 2010s, it's being rebuilt from scratch to be engaging for all players, new and old.

This roadmap outlines our programming goals and doesn't include the art and writing work that will be ongoing throughout.

Keep up with Kaylune through our monthly updates on our socials and Discord!

At the very bottom, an adorable sketch of a baby Felyve on its back is featured.

Ding ding, order up! Here's a taste test of the Shapa's special color, the Sugary Shapa! Each species looks different when colored special; this Shapa appears to be decked out in whipped cream, wafer rolls, icing and chocolate sprinkles. All atop a toxic wool coat. ☺️ Scrumptious!

A Sugary Shapa on a creamy background with chocolate icing, next to it a chalkboard says: Today's special: The Sugary Shapa.
The Shapa itself is predominantly brown. It has two wafer rolls sticking out of the fur in front of one ear, and cream around the other. Chocolate sprinkles litter its body, and icing is piped along its back. Overall, a cinnamon roll.

Or if you're in the Southern Hemisphere, Kaylune hopes you'll enjoy the cooler weather winter brings! As part of their summer activities our Pride ambassadors, Mika and Claire, will be hanging out on one of Kaytropolis' beaches under the supervision of their camp counselors.

"Happy Summer from Kaylune!"

A polaroid of Kaylune NPCs having fun on the beach is taped to the graphic. Claire pulls Mika along, while two camp counselors look on. In the back, a lone figure drifts by on a raft titled S.S. KADAVER. "Enjoy the sun!" is written beneath the photo.

Upon Stargazing Hill, a shear of Shapas stop to stare.

On grassy hills backed by a starry night sky, a group of multi-colored Shapas frolic. Starry text in the sky says, "SHAPA" under a crescent moon. At the topmost of the hill a telescope can be seen.

Shapas are ovine-like creatures with a brightly colored spotted wool coat. Their floppy ears, faces and legs are gray, with their legs banded in a lighter and darker gray. They have wide eyes, no nose and sharp fangs extruding from their smiling mouths.

~ Kaytropolis’s Pixie Pet Representative, the Shapa ~ Fairies make fast friends, but with their peculiar principles of right and wrong may quite literally make themselves your friend—by replacing a personage in your life.

The Pixie Shapa is framed in a floral-themed border along with text that reads:
KAYTROPOLIS, THE SHAPA.
"Until the pixies came to wend
Her fate, and left a little sprite
Who wears her name and face but yet
I know she does not smile right."

The Pixie Shapa itself appears ovine, with a coat of woolly white fur. Its lower legs are covered in pink petals, tipped with blue, and ending in yellow hooves—resembling a tubulate flower overall. Its ears are bent dandelion leaves, and a ring of leaves serve as a collar around its neck. A long stripy green tail spirals behind it, tipped with a dandelion puff. It wears a cheeky expression with two fangs and bright blue eyes which contrast with its yellow and pink face. Surrounding it are dandelions, their seeds, mushrooms, and a mysterious grass mound...

~ Paragon City's Pixie Pet Representative, the Aquis ~ The pixies are a curious lot, if you take notice of one—and once you do, they will notice you in return—more will follow.

The Pixie Aquis is framed in a floral-themed border along with text that reads:
PARAGON CITY, THE AQUIS.
"Upon your head a flow'ry crown
As honeyed words begin to spread,
And the pixies will entreat you
And to Arkaydia you be led."

The Pixie Aquis itself is a pink and white canine-like creature. It has three pairs of ears (or perhaps tendrils) from which yellow stamen sprout, two pairs of yellow insect wings, a green lilypad collar, and a dark pink flower bud-like tail. Its fur is wet and lace-like in places, with ruffles around its ankles. It features patterns of dark pink droplets and green duckweed. It floats above a puddle of water, from which sprouts mushrooms, aquatic plants, and, mysteriously enough, a sword.

Introducing: the Pixie Orb & the Pixie Felyve 🔔 🍄 🩷

A graphic decorated to look like the cover of an old storybook. Framed in a floral-themed border, dark grey text on a textured, faded green background reads: PIXIES OF KAYRTH. Pixie pets dance through life with ringing laughter and clever tricks, a hint of the otherworldly in their step.

In the middle is artwork of the Pixie Orb, a pink orb with blue and white swirls from which faerie wings, mushrooms, and golden antennae.

A graphic decorated to look like the cover of an old storybook. Framed in a floral-themed border, dark grey text on a textured, beige background reads: CITY OF GALES, THE FELYVE. “Fate shifted not by will of any power divine, but by laughing pixie trill, emerging from forest pine.”

In the middle is artwork of the Pixie Felyve, a feline-shaped pet with a coat of fur primarily in varying shades of pink. Around its neck, which is tufted white in the shape of a fancy collar, and its white-tipped tail, is a silver bell tied with a blue ribbon. Golden antennae sprout from the pet’s ears, blue faerie wings from its back, and blue, white and gold mushrooms grow along its body.

They took their time waking up from hibernation, but the Bearar is here at long last!

A card lays on a purple gradient background. On the card itself, a winged yellow ursine creature stands on snow. It has a crescent on its forehead, a fluffy round tail and fur tufts on its ears. At the top the card says, "KAYLUNE" and below, "THE BEARAR." A note is taped to the card: "The Bearar are no strangers to cold mountaintops! They show their affection by gently tapping their forehead crescents together." An arrow points below, indicating more colors in the following images.

Make this Friday the 13th lucky by sharing these Kaylune-themed cards with the special people in your life.

A red Felyve with tan fur stands on a beige background surrounded by light red hearts. Above them there's deep red text that says, "I've got Felyve-ings (feelings) for you" spelt in a playful way with a :3 emoticon. Beside them are "to:" and "from:" with gaps to write names.
Wearables-wise, the Felyve has layered chin-length blonde hair, red heart-shaped pupils in dark red eyes, and a soft blush. Small hearts floating off to the side. They are wearing a tan sweater vest over a white button-up shirt. Their necktie is a ribbon tied into a bow and they're wearing a red heart pin on their sweater vest. Their trousers are red and white tartan and they wear brown dress shoes. Around their pinkie, a red string is tied.

Since it’s Aquarius season, there’s no better start to our monthly updates than with a feature of our resident wet beast, the Aquis!

On a banded multi-colored background with a cream frame, many colors of Aquis (in-depth description in other image) are lined up, half in frame. In order, they are blue, green, purple, orange, red, pink, and yellow with the background corresponding to the previous color. Above these Aquis, "AQUIS" is written in bold, colorful letters. Directly beneath the Aquis' images there's an indication of their colors. Underneath this, cream text with a brown outline asks, "What's your favorite color?" with "your" being italicized. There is also a small mention of kaylune.com at the very bottom.
