GenAI is much more tolerated in Chinese culture and industry than it is in the West, so it's unsurprising that one of their biggest gaming companies is openly touting their "accomplishments" with LLMs and whatnot without expecting backlash, at least domestically

NG expanded its infrastructure to accommodate new audiences, such as including support for modern game and video formats and improving its art portal in the wake of the Tumblr exodus. They also host annual Flash Forward jams for new games that can be run through emulation tools like Ruffle.

As someone who's been into MLP for over a decade, I also don't want to be called a brony anymore, but mostly due to the negative connotations of that label that stem from a vocal but obnoxious subgroup, not out of personal familiarity with the source material.

Even then, I wouldn't be surprised if they're just fine-tuning an open-source foundation model trained on stolen content (e.g. LAION-5B), which from what I heard is common practice for GenAI training. I think that's what OP is concerned about.

If Them's Fightin' Herds tourneys get decent turnout at pony cons (mostly from casual or new players of that game) despite how hard getting into traditional fighters are, I'm sure that brackets for the other horse game can get the numbers to sustain themselves.

Given YT/Google's track record of already incorporating LLMs into their services, I have no doubt they're working on plans to use Youtube for training data, and they have the monopoly on long-form video streaming to make it hard for users to switch to competitors.

For most normals (attacks without a motion input, like 5A or 5C) you can usually cancel them into other normals or specials to make them safe, e.g. Arizona 5C>2C>22A. Iirc this tutorial teaches you not to use specifically launcher (3C) on block. Launcher in TFH CANNOT be cancelled from on block.

Yesn't. The project started under that publisher, Maximum Entertainment/Modus Games, but in early 2025 MaxEnt transferred their fighting game IPs to GGI, which includes the Avatar license/project and the dev team responsible for it (which includes MikeZ).

GGI acquired most of MaxEnt's fighting game IPs (TFH, Diesel Legacy, the beginnings of Avatar Legends) when MaxEnt was downsizing. They also reassembled the DL dev team, which was responsible for the Avatar game. However, they are separate companies that are not actively affiliated.

The team that worked on Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game is the same as the team that worked on Diesel Legacy. They share the same engine (Abare Engine) and all that.
