plx is a PostgreSQL extension that lets you write stored functions and triggers in the dialect you already know (the current set is listed below). When you run CREATE FUNCTION, plx transpiles the body to plpgsql and stores that plpgsql in pg_proc.prosrc. github.com/commandpromp...

Public companies are responsible to their shareholders, not the employees. Blame government.

Because the needs are different . Pretty much the same reason for a progressive tax. I am not going to pay a 16 yr/old 50k a year to serve burgers. Paying a 35 yr/old with minimum education but had a family, is a different argument. This obviously has geographical considerations

Cough. Bullshit. Corporations also pay half of your retirement insurance. Your health care (which yes most provide) Your PTO.

If you say: I want living wages for adults. I am with you. If you say: the poverty level should be doubled . I am with you. If you say: health care / insurance should be NPO only. I (might) be with you. If you blame billionaires you are just a propaganda machine for bullshit

Joshua (JD) Drake @offgridwithjd.bsky.social · 16/04/2026
Going out to dinner is a privilege . Terrible comparison. But here is the real issue . The problem isn't billionaires and blaming the successful just makes you look like a whiner. Blame the source: weak and poor governance by our elected officials.

I fail to see why success should be punished. This is a government problem, not a successful person problem

Yes and no. Federal workers are just like any other workers, some good, some bad, some excellent. And unfortunately I have met far more public service workers where I have said, "they are not hiring their best" than private sector workers. Of course that likely depends on requirements for the job

You will get zero argument from me that the primary problem is the narcissist elected official.

If it was STOLEN, prosecute it. It has been done, successfully. If you are just sad because wages are low, that's a government problem and you should focus your energy there.

You can feel free to disagree with me. We obviously aren't going to agree. I have zero problem with Billionaires. I have made lots of money from the products and services that they have developed. I feel bad about that exactly zero. I provide for my family, my community and I do a lot of NPO work.

Some of that is true, not all of it. AWS employs over 190k people. All with health care from day 1. A lot of those people are literally multi-millionaires because of AWS. They are not all parasites and without them, society wouldn't be even closed to as advanced as it is now (technology wise)

Life is *literally* what you are willing to sacrifice.

Joshua (JD) Drake @offgridwithjd.bsky.social · 15/04/2026
No the connection is obvious. Lobbyists influence the end result. So what? Stop being a victim and do what needs to make a change. Have you been at the capital with 50,000 people, organizing, protesting, using your dollar (and others) to influence change?
100
Joshua (JD) Drake @offgridwithjd.bsky.social · 15/04/2026
I don't disagree. How important is this issue? Are you willing to take 2 weeks off of work a year from now, so you can save (however) enough money to do so, to join with 10 million other people on the steps of the capital to protest the issue? Most, aren't. Most want it handed to them. Earn it.

Joshua (JD) Drake @offgridwithjd.bsky.social · 15/04/2026
No. They got rich by being good at the game and yes, life is literally a game. People getting screwed out of their wages is the governments problem.

Joshua (JD) Drake @offgridwithjd.bsky.social · 15/04/2026
No. No person has a right of Sovereignty over another. Period. Full stop. You can "feel" different but you do not have a right to my product or property. This country is built on Liberty, liberty means you have the freedom to be an asshole and not you or I have a right to take from them for that.

Joshua (JD) Drake @offgridwithjd.bsky.social · 15/04/2026
I understand that completely but anyone can do that. Granted scale is different but anyone with assets can do that.

Joshua (JD) Drake @offgridwithjd.bsky.social · 15/04/2026
And I mean that with sincerity. If it really mattered, you, I, and everyone else would take time from work, from our families and we would be on the steps of congress. *never happens* People want this shit to change because "they feel it should" and they don't actually want to work for it.
200
Joshua (JD) Drake @offgridwithjd.bsky.social · 15/04/2026
Nothing beats the mob. If the mob actually cared about this issue, they would take their mob directly to congress and get it fixed. They don't. Why? It is easier to complain about a common non-enemy: Billionaires.

Joshua (JD) Drake @offgridwithjd.bsky.social · 15/04/2026
If you are of the old school (as I am), distros being willing to even consider this is a betrayal as a whole. The Open Source of even 2015 would have told governments, "then don't use us" because "we aren't going to capitulate". The younger generation is more than happy to allow it. (YMMV)

This isn't a billionaire thing though. This is a government thing. If you want change, change the government. It is and should be everyone's prerogative to do what is best for them *first* (not only). Billionaires are the scapegoat that propaganda machines use to take focus off the government .

Joshua (JD) Drake @offgridwithjd.bsky.social · 15/04/2026
Then what's the problem? People evade taxes, news story at 11... Because they are rich they are somehow an enemy. Newsflash, most people I know (not professionally) pay cash, you can guess why

Cough. You mean proper tax planning? If what they are doing illegal, cool. Prosecute them. If not, its just smart. This is a government problem, not a successful people problem.

If you are saying, "lower incomes are taxed too much!" I would probably get behind that. Frankly, I think the top 20% (Maybe 30%) could cover all of it (they are already at 80%). That said, it is still a bad government problem not a successful person problem.

So this is a great point and I agree with you. Here is the dirty secret people don't realize. Large service based companies pay shit because the government picks up the rest. If you are poor, you get free healthcare, you get financial subsidy. Make those companies pay living wages (for adults).

Joshua (JD) Drake @offgridwithjd.bsky.social · 15/04/2026
The problem with people like you is this: You define yourself by your victim status. I wasn't defending billionaires. I merely brought up stats. Take your shot. Stop whining. Move forward. (I never once suggested I wanted to be a billionaire, I don't. I am happy exactly where I am.)
210
Joshua (JD) Drake @offgridwithjd.bsky.social · 15/04/2026
Sure, I would agree with that. I know a whole lot of people that weren't wealthy and are now because of Bezos and AWS. My point is that the top 10% pay a crap ton of taxes. The problem isn't successful people. The problem is irresponsible government.
200
Joshua (JD) Drake @offgridwithjd.bsky.social · 15/04/2026
You aren't seriously stating that somehow successful people should be punished because of the bad decisions of a corrupt government? How about this: Get rid of income tax all together. Create a transaction tax (two way sales tax). Create federal law that budget must be balanced.
