Endlessly frustrating that Walz and Frey are not challenged more by the media about state and local law enforcement officers' wholesale refusal to enforce the law against federal agents. Federal supremacy has never been tested by a situation like this and it's not a real excuse for inaction

Not an expert in LLMs by any means, and as someone who has created "AI" models for cancer screening purposes, I don't feel reflexively averse to the idea that AI-derived predictions can outperform expert human predictions in some contexts. That said,

Not sure what's driving my tendency to type "probably cause" rather than "probable cause" in my Constitutional Criminal Procedure class notes, but I am sure that "probably cause" is a more apt term for the standard.

Besides law, is there any other professional degree that's taught primarily via select tidbits of lore? Like, buddy, I'm just trying to learn about parol evidence. Going on a fetch quest in the form of a terribly written case from 100 years ago with no real bearing on the status quo is not useful.

Can't help but feel like having the GOP in charge of the MN House for the next two years is going to be a real obstacle to the state government's ability to respond usefully to the private takeover of the federal government.

Not sure who writes the captions for these things, but I am pretty sure that birthright citizenship is a constitutional right and not a "policy." I feel like the fate of this particular executive order will be a bellwether for whether the constitution matters anymore.
Screenshot of an Instagram post where the Star Tribune describes a constitutional right as a "policy."

Every casebook in law school is like, "Here's a term you're going to need to understand on a visceral level to make sense of this class. We are not going to tell you what it means. Instead you must synthesize its meaning from five, century-old opinions filled with casual racism and archaic jargon.

Reading case history about larceny is cool because you learn that ill-advised "stealing is legal if you use this one trick" schemes are a time-honored western tradition.
