Last week, our move-in team helped furnish an apartment for a family from Peru, who, after some months living with relatives in Madison, were finally able to move into their own place. Thanks to our wonderful donors, these people now have a fully furnished living room, dining room, and bedroom.

It's time for back to school and the wonderful people over at the International Institute of Wisconsin are hosting a Back to School Supply Drive on 8/28/26. "A backpack, notebook, or box of pencils may seem small, but for a child in need, it can make all the difference." 1/2

We’re happy to say that last week Open Doors partnered with Jewish Social Services, Wisconsin Literacy, and Human-I-T to provide about two dozen laptops to refugees. Our volunteers are offering follow-up computer literacy training for those who want it.

The East Madison Community Center needs volunteers to keep their weekly food pantry running! The pantry runs on Tuesday mornings with shifts from 8am-12pm or 9am-1pm for July and August. Call EMCC at 608-249-0861 and ask to speak to Sarah or email her at sjacobsen@eastmadisoncc.org

May 1st was a day of action, a day where people from all walks of life, came together and marched, Immigrant workers, students, families, labor unions, faith leaders, and allies came together across WI to stand (or in this case march) in solidarity!
