We tried getting Burns fodder from a Norman restaurant near to us but they'd filled the order books so no extra space (fact'o'the day - the largest consumers of Single malts is the French. They really do get good quality spirits)

The trick now is to arrange with your local co-op a "food share". You clear off the stuff they'd bin and deposit it elsewhere for the good of the community... (I do this every other Sunday to one of the local churches and that stuff does shift in the morning. Better than landfill at any rate)

I was one of those weird smokers who did it for the flavour. Lucky Strikes as my normal pick but Dunhill internationals if I was feeling flush. Haven't bothered since the smoking ban came in though. Especially after a cigar in the snow on a stag do that nearly lead to hyperthermia...

I use a cherry brown keys alot less noisy, but tactile which is a great help for a touch typist who spends alot of time actually typing. As opposed to the horrid, cheap and nasty feeling basics keyboards that are quiet but feel like sticking fingers your in hardened mousse.

The white suits are less for protection against the acid and more so that you don't shed any skin cells (aka dust) over the wafers since such imperfections can and do ruin chips.

AHH you've lost a phase. You're probably getting 160volts - multi volt stuff might still work but 220-240volt stuff won't.

That it works as a generator screams that it's an AC motor. Might not be getting the right voltage or it could be the controller chip that's cooked and can get it initially started, maybe spin it by hand and see if that encourages it to continue spinning?

Might be worth checking the power supply - make sure it's outputting 16v (AC). Failing that considering you got the pulley off does the motor shaft spin without the pulley on? If so the pulley's loose which would also be the problem.

Best bet would be to get a multimeter and check if there's output voltages on the 4 wires on the edge of the circuit board - current means the motor's bad, no current means the electronics have gone bad.

Nope, AC - 16volts (the sine wave by the output means AC - I've got other audio kit that does the same, Hornby train transformers work on the same AC voltage and are cheaper replacements) plus the motor has 3 or 4 wires going in - it's very much looks like an AC motor. It'd need diagnostics applying

Depends on what sort of motor it is. If it's a DC motor then brushes could have died. If it's an AC contactorless motor then "bad things™" and would need further diagnostics.
