Watch this clip. Professors will recognize this kid as the student who didn't do the reading but still has very strong opinions about how it's all "bullshit," except this time he's not the callow student who's going to fail your course, he's the reviewer who's going to cancel your grant.

I am a staunch free speech supporter. But after ten years of freaking out about woke students deplatforming right-wing speakers, I don't have the energy to pivot to criticizing a fascist president for launching an all-out attack on free expression at universities.

We've got Bill Kristol saying abolish ICE and standing up for trans people, David Brooks quoting the communist manifesto, and Sen. Van Hollen forcing a dictator to give proof of life of a hostage in a death camp. Meanwhile, Dems like Newsom are doing podcasts with fascists. Make it make sense.

about 90% of culture war grievances is literally just people with nothing happening in their lives getting mad that other people are not as unhappy as they are

Everyone needs to understand what Elon and DOGE are building, an AI driven panopticon that will know everything about you and will be used to ensure compliance with their fascist agenda. They are creating a unified database of everything the federal government has on every single American. 🧵1/

Called it. The Republicans in congress are targeting a Northwestern Law School civil rights legal clinic for providing legal services to pro Palestinian protesters.
A letter dated March 27, 2025, from the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Education and Workforce, addressed to Michael Schill, President of Northwestern University, and Peter J. Barris, Chair of Northwestern’s Board of Trustees. The letter raises concerns about Northwestern University’s response to antisemitism, particularly the involvement of its Community Justice and Civil Rights Clinic in providing legal representation to organizers of an anti-Israel blockade at O’Hare International Airport. The letter cites the participation of Rifqa Falaneh, described as an antisemitic activist, and references her social media posts. Footnotes cite a Fox News article, Canary Mission profile, and Twitter posts. The letter continues, discussing broader concerns about Northwestern’s alleged tolerance of antisemitic conduct and left-wing political activism. It references an October 2024 report by the Committee titled "Antisemitism on College Campuses Exposed," highlighting instances of faculty involvement in anti-Israel activities and decisions such as boycotting Sabra-brand hummus. The letter also mentions the return of a professor who was previously suspended for allegedly obstructing police. It criticizes the Community Justice and Civil Rights Clinic for its involvement in progressive advocacy and political activism, including a Movement Lawyering class that allows students to earn academic credit for working with activist organizations. The page includes additional footnotes citing Twitter posts, congressional reports, and university webpages. The final page of the letter expresses concerns about Northwestern University using institutional resources to fund left-wing advocacy and demands documentation regarding its legal clinics. The Committee requests detailed records, including policies, budgets, funding sources, payments to external individuals or organizations, and hiring materials for the clinic’s faculty. It emphasizes Congress’s oversight powers under the U.S. Constitution and House rules, requiring the university to provide unaltered digital copies of the requested materials by April 10, 2025. The footnotes cite legal precedent and House of Representatives rules regarding congressional oversight authority.

Studio Ghibli films are such masterpieces that speak to empathy, connection, nature, and humanity. It's beyond disgusting seeing that art style completely bastardized by soulless generative AI and used to support fascist trolls. It's genuinely contradictory to everything Miyazaki stands for.

I tested it, because it seemed so craven, grotesque, and absurd, but if you put in the original URL it changes to the "DEI" version automatically. www.defense.gov/News/Feature...

It should terrify everyone that a green card holder was black bagged and disappeared to Louisiana simply for having opinions this administration dislikes. They're building the prisons and camps to do it to citizens. The time to stand up to this is now.

It's literally just the same bill they passed for a trans youth ban, they just remove the word minor and change the word child to person. This is literally what we said would happen. It was never about trans youth.

MSNBC worries about the perception that they’re not fair to R’s while Fox eats an $800m libel settlement to preserve its ability to lie about Ds. That’s the asymmetry that gives illiberalism a structural advantage. open.substack.com/pub/readtpa/...

Why does 25% AfD among young men spark a thousand "what is going on with young men?" posts yet Die Linke 34% among young women generates...nothing at all? Yes, young men voting for the radical right is an important phenomenon. But so is young women going rad left *at even higher rates*.

No, he doesn't. Randy E. Barnett and Ilan Wurman should be disbarred and removed from their positions for even saying this. There should be no mercy for people articulating this made up bullshit in the legal profession. They are enablers of fascism no different than the lawyers of the Nazi regime.

It won't be just the LA Times and Washington Post. It will be your employer, your university, your school district, and your local elected officials. They will all cave and engage in anticipatory obedience to fascism because of their cowardice and greed. Your institutions will not save you.
