Some morning enrichment. I had tried them with the tap running first but that was too much. They do enjoy fishing for peas. It's mixed veg in there which means they have to grab something and decide if they want it (peas seem the favourite). #rats #petrats #ratsofthefediverse

1/x It has been a spicy few days. I finally put the two groups of rats together and it's not been the worst, but it has not been the best. Here's an early pic from Saturday. The tension has gone down and the cage has got another layer added and things are slowly […] [Original post on woof.group]

Five rats in a bare cage. The three younger, smaller rats (Baron, Cheddar, Stilton) are all in the back corner, almost stacked and looking like a hydra. They are facing a bigger older rat (Truffle) who has his body curved with his rear pushing towards them, an aggressive pose (it's ready for a fight, dominating space while keeping the more vulnerable head further away). Next to them, the other bigger, older rat (Fizz) is facing the younger ones with his fur puffed up showing negative emotion.

Bonus shot of both older boys letting Baron know where he stands in the scheme of things (he's the smudge hidden underneath) #rats #petrats #ratsofthefediverse

Two large rats (Fizz and Truffle) pin a largely hidden smaller rat (Baron) upside down, while two other smaller rats (Stilton and Cheddar) look on.

Introductions continue. The older boys are very chill about it. The younger boys more stressed. Stilton as ever is terrified; he's a nervous boy. Baron wants to stay head rat, seem here trying to dominate, but two adults males in their prime and twice his weight […] [Original post on woof.group]

3/3 This is Cheddar. He shares a dad with the other two, but was born to a different mother about a week later. He is a russian blue agouti Smooth - having only known the standard agoutis, his colouring was a revelation to me! He's noticeably smaller than the […] [Original post on woof.group]

2/3 This is Baron, a smooth beige. He is brother to Stilton. He's the second most confident and the heaviest of the three (not much bigger than Stilton though). He is getting braver with being on me. I think he may be the head rat, it's hard to tell and I think […] [Original post on woof.group]

1/3 I got three new rat children almost two weeks ago now! I'm still getting to know them, as they are not comfortable enough for their personalities to show yet. This is Stilton. He is a russian blue rex. Of the three, he is the most nervous of me and things in […] [Original post on woof.group]

I have new baby rats! But that means there has been a bit less energy for my older boys, which I feel bad about. Today I gave the older pair a treat of some cat grass that has been growing for a few weeks. They enjoy plants, but when I have given them cress, they […] [Original post on woof.group]

Fizz is about 8 months old now and today I noticed an expected change in his coat that a male puberty causes. He's gone from being ultra soft to having a little more roughness in his texture. He's still very strokable and largely happy for me to stroke him so I'm […] [Original post on woof.group]

Truffle has better sight than his half brother, so is much braver about exploring the boundaries of his reality. He had a day or two of being obsessed with escape, but has calmed down. It's on me to offer better enrichment to keep him occupied. #petrats #ratsofthefediverse #rats

Introducing Fizz (on top) and Truffles (below). They are half brothers, born a day apart to their respective mothers, two months ago. They are nervous but sociable and seemingly bribable. They will probably be introduced to the others after Christmas. #petrats […] [Original post on woof.group]

Two young dumbo eared rats atop one another in a hammock. The bottom rat is a berkshire rex, black slightly curly fur and whiskers, facing the camera possibly awake. On top and less in focus is a champagne rex, with red eyes mostly closed, pointing to the right as lies across his brother.

@TimWardCam That sounds distinct unfun 😬 I got lucky; I ended up subscribing to HomeAssistant cloud to support the project, then found it let the mobile device report location through it, so stuff just fell into place. I'm almost feeling guilty about how easy it was having heard your story 😄

Woo, I'm falling behind on write-ups! About six weeks ago I was getting ready for a weekend at Boundless 2025 in Birmingham vulpineleather.com/boundless2025 I didn't know what to expect but I knew @bigboyjoe.bsky.social had had a transformative […] [Original post on woof.group]

@bigboyjoe.bsky.social surprised and delighted me with this pair of wristbands he made for me! Knowing how much I love the game Deep Rock Galactic, he used icons from it (from the Scale Brigade armour set and the Deep Dive missions). They're rather lovely and I'm very proud to wear them.

[Pet rats] The boys at rest today. They have been sleeping separately a lot recently but I changed their cage up this morning and I think they wanted comfort from each other's company. Names in the caption. #rats #petrats #ratsofthefediverse

A picture taken looking into one end of a hammock in a cage, with three rats trying to sleep when some idiot is disturbing them to take pictures, layered over each other. Nearest is Tux, black and at the bottom. Next, Caviar an agouti/brown rat has his head lying over Tux's body. Hidden deeper in the hammock is Champers, a champagne hooded rat, lying on Caviar.

If you asked a cartoonist to draw a picture of an adorable small dog, they would draw this picture of my daughter Bess. "She is a small dog with two gay dads, of course she is a total princess". #dogsOfTheFediverse #dogs

We are almost at the point where Bess has been with us half her life and she has grown so much! Her ears starting standing up at different times so we went through the absolutely cutest weeks of her having one up and one down. #dogsoffediverse #petdog

Our puppy Bess in bed with her body under a sheet and only her head visible. She is looking at the camera. Her facial proportions are very puppy, with big eyes and a short nose compared to her skull's size. Her ears are both flopped forward.

Our puppy Bess recently, almost twice as old as the first photo. She is sleeping in the same bed with much of her body under a sheet. Her face is much more dog proportioned with a much longer snout and relatively smaller eyes to her skull. Her ears stand up now.

I should have mentioned that just over two weeks ago a boyfriend brought home a new daughter. This is Bess who is a wonderful addition to our lives. She seems pretty smart and brave, and is utterly beautiful. She is a Corgi / Jack Russell cross. #dogsOfTheFediverse #petdog #dog

A puppy lies curled up in bed looking at the camera. She is mostly black, with white tips on her back paws and a pink belly. The ear on the side of her head resting on the bed is up while the other is down. She has a toy by her paws.
