If the amendments had passed, it'd be possible to argue for the motion as a hard stance against the Israeli government and those that enable it. With those amendments having been debated and rejected, I think it's impossible to portray them as anything but a racist party, even if individuals aren't.

Works in sausages imo, but horrendous as a discrete accompaniment. But i worry about your use of the phrase 'things like', because what if the next thing on that list is lamb and mint?

They've got a separate fridge, possibly in the bedroom, containing two leftover kebabs, a bag of starbars and a catering-size squeezy bottle of garlic mayo. One assumes.

I think people who live in the UK full-time and follow the news to a moderate extent will be aware that JKR is anti-trans There's no guarantee at all that people who mostly work in the US and have a lot on will be aware that taking this gig is funding lawfare Once people *know* they get judged imo

To answer the *actual* question I'd say Aquamarine, Acid and Pumpkin - but I like Serenity more than Aquamarine for the brighter blue, and Tangerine more than Pumpkin for the orange

At what point does misrepresentation count as just plain lying? Because wherever that line is, I feel you've absolutely rocketed past it here. I wish the press would take a day off the antisemitic dog whistles, and focus on things you've said or done that ACTUALLY deserve criticism. There's a few!

Uniqlo are pretty good for gay shorts at straight lengths imo

When Celine Dion lost a lot of weight everyone went 'christ, I hope she's alright' - and it was a health problem, and the interest wasn't appreciated, and there was a lesson there. But Celine Dion wasn't marketing her health problem as aspirational to kids (and she never had a kinda pro-ana blog...)

I think there's a meaningful difference though, in that she's presenting her body as part of her brand, and the Petal video that kicked this off was, uh. *Extremely* skeleton-forward? I worry stigma is less of a problem than tweens paying attention when she talks about how happy and healthy she is

Idk on this one - the reality of the 'discourse' is gleeful misogyny and concern trolling, BUT ALSO AG's output, music and acting both, is very consciously calibrated at the group most vulnerable to EDs. Pop girlies have some level of duty here - there'll be a lot of frightened mums in the world rn

Similar experience. My chief complaint has been that since Burnham came in, he/the Greens have basically taken the Reform-on-London approach of calling it a lawless shithole and lying about his record, which isn't exactly a new and hopeful type of politics... Same for you, or something else?

Wear them to the eagle. There'll be a queue of at least 1 👀

Wait and see what he does in office imo. I agree it's been the major red flag of his campaign but I also think he's been very boxed in, as regards potential wedge issues in a disinformation-heavy byelection. I definitely think he's more likely to pick fights with tufton st and treasury spads though

I enjoyed your review and the backlash is predictable but can I just say btw it's really funny to see people who identify as leftists getting super angry about ZA/UM on the basis that the only valuable labour is that which is done by upper management

Big light is for emergencies and DIY. Anything else is heterosexual nonsense. Imagine trying to suggest a threesome with the big light on. Hideous

Galactic Racer looks like it could be the first game to properly scratch the wipeout itch and Rev.NOIR looked right up my particular alley. There's a lot of Big Franchises I'm not that attached to but being hyped about two games does me fine

Think it's incredible how being part of XGS has been brilliant for Obsidian at the same time that being part of Microsoft has been terrible for Obsidian

As with all Japanese devs, there's no way to know from the outside to what extent this is true and to what extent it's nonsense performative bullshit to access government subsidies/tax relief for companies that demonstrate going big on AI. Same with SquareEnix.

Angeline Era wasn't on my radar at all and it looks incredible and like it might elbow its way past a pretty intense backlog

Does it help that they're appointed positions rather than inherited? Eliza Manningham-Fuller was a spook for thirty years, John McFall was a working class teacher who became an MP and likes a fancy tie. The pageantry is just that

This isn't new for the left but it's about as healthy and popular as a TB outbreak and ZS is absolutely right to ring the bells imo. There's room for triangulation and tactical candidacies operating in the same space as the Greens and any improved post-Starmer Labour, but not like this

Reading through some of the backstory it seems like a lot of the people hovering around Corbyn are deeply opposed to the idea of democratic party structures having a role in decision making or really existing in the first place as opposed to a politburo that appoints itself...

I've been thinking about this since i saw it and actually I reckon Clive Lewis is worse than Wes Streeting because at least Streeting is honest that he'll knife his trans friends to help his career. I could swallow Labour being silent on trans rights before the election. But in power it's criminal.

For the Premier League specifically, Spurs and Everton are the traditional shouts as likeable perma-bridesmaids with big crowds and awful luck but Forest have been Storyline FC this year as a team of rejects doing incredibly well at a smallish club with a remarkable history but little modern success

It was Roy Keane originally, wasn't it? I've used it occasionally as shorthand.

So why are you talking in the article about how important the upcoming test series are? England have been dreadful in LOIs for some time, chiefly because Buttler is terrible at his job, and now they're playing the best white ball side in the world on an away tour. Nothing to do with McCullum there.

Andy @ocelota.bsky.social · 09/02/2025
Alternatively: England's white ball side under Buttler's captaincy continue to have mediocre fields and unthreatening bowling sequences while the inconsistent batting lineup are unable to build a total, and the Test side are still playing well/overachieving compared to the quality of the player pool
