I attended a private boarding school from grades three through eight (elementary school). A very long time ago. I just got a letter from them asking for an "alumni" contribution. Times are tough, I guess. Will I contribute? No way in hell.

I don't think we went from summer to fall in any sort of gradual way. One day the temps dropped 20 degrees and that was that.

Here in Nor'eater-land (the lower part), it has been raining steadily for days. I live about 6 miles inland from the ocean so I'm glad the streets aren't as flooded as the ocean resort nearby but I still haven't been out of the house for days.

I have a retina issue n my right eye that makes distinguishing like colors hard. Example: a white piece of paper against a light background. I agree about white type and a black background and all sorts of odd color combinations.

My thing with therapy is paying someone to just sit there and nod there head like they're listening.

It does seem early. Maybe it's a sign of a cold winter. Or something.

You know the old advice about, “If you want to complain about a problem, suggest a solution.” Personally, I don think “vote them out” is the solution people think it will be.

I know there are other groups on Bluesky but I can’t seem to escape the political vortex. Any pointers?

The thing about being retired is that I can’t remember what day it is. Saturday. Right?

3.75 years after my wife’s death. Yes, I think about her. Also, yes, I’d like female buddy to be friends with benefits. No, I would really not prefer to do the do the whole Internet dating thing. Am I being too picky.

Habits I want to to discard: eating nothing but sugary foods, biting my nails, a quick temper.

Ken @oceanpinesguy.bsky.social · 05/09/2026

My addiction to sugar has overcome any taste I had for savory foods or salty foods. I’ll blame it on shitty bar food. 🥴

You know all those polls that say Trump is a loser? Wasn’t he supposed to lose to Hillary and everyone was flabbergasted when he won?

That’d be great if we knew who Chris Hansen was.

Reminds me of Tucker Carlson. There one day, gone the next. I have no way of knowing but I’m thinking it might be that the “talent” wanted more money than Murdoch was willing to pay. So it was bye-bye time. You can always get another [younger] shill.

I regret not having enough time left (age) to be able to see a resurgence of empathy and respect and civility. We are too far gone.

In 1973 , Soylent Green was a movie with a dystopian environment we are accelerating toward. A movie that foretells a future that is no longer the stuff of science fiction.

I don’t know enough about the other Presidents that were assassinated. I know Lincoln and John Kennedy were good men. Where are the assassins for Trump. To me, it’s proof positive that he is doing the work of those who could change history, if they chose.

I'm not over thrilled with this idea. No gym strips away the place to exercise and no meal plans just puts more stress on students to afford food.

My heart goes out to you. I have a cat that vomits around 4-5. Luckily, not in my bed but it's still a mess to clean up.

I’m not a real techy guy so maybe there’s some strange magic about giving your phone number and email to a company that promises to scour the Dark Web with them, Why would I want to do that?
