In Nintendo's Switch 2 announcement trailer released today, there was a clip of Switch 2 joycons driving around and drifting like they're in Mario Kart. This is a reference to the "joycon drift" feature from the original Switch. Very clever!

I've been working on a project recently, and it's coming along quickly! This is a Windows GameMaker TASing program, and although it's not quite ready yet, it can already record/play back gameplay and display a list of inputs. Here's an image of some testing I was doing using the game Katana ZERO:

A window titled "GMReplay v0.1.2" with file select boxes for "Game executable," "Game data.win file," and "Movie file." Below that, there are buttons labeled "Recording," "Playback," "Start," and "Stop." Below that, there's a table full of data representing various inputs from the movie. On top of the window is the game Katana ZERO, which is also selected in the Game executable field.

Congratulations to @benjaminurquhart.com for figuring this out! This makes use of the function yyg_player_run() which is a precursor to game_change() that's currently being used by Deltarune. This function was present in GameMaker Studio 1 (Undertale's engine), although it sometimes causes crashes.

I completed a Max EXP Geno run of Undertale! My final EXP before Mettaton was 13402, with 117 kills. As far as I'm aware, this is the true maximum EXP for Geno before Mettaton. (Mettaton himself resets all your EXP, so it wouldn't make sense to go past him for this challenge.)

I definitely didn't expect to PB in Sapphire on a derust run with several minutes of mistakes. I guess I had more room for improvement than I thought I did... Hopefully that means the next PB will be soon!
