When fisheries decisions are guided by science, fishers benefit. 🐟 Better data, regular assessments, and stronger science-based management can support healthier fish stocks, sustainable catches, and stronger livelihoods for Belize's fishers.

#DidYouKnow that #jellyfish have no brain or heart? 🤯 What they do have is a loose network of nerves called a "nerve net," but no brain. And though they have no heart, their bodies are so thin that they can be oxygenated solely by diffusion.

It's 8/8 🗓️ and it's the perfect day to talk about the octopus! 🐙 An octopus has 8 arms and each one can think for itself. Over half of an octopus' neurons are in its arms, meaning they can taste, touch, and make decisions independently. Basically… eight mini brains! 🧠

What's better than locally caught seafood? Seafood that's sourced the right way. 🎣🌊 Ask where your seafood came from & how it was harvested. Supporting sustainable fishing protects marine ecosystems, supports local fishers, & helps ensure we'll always be able to enjoy seafood.
