Well, it’s kind of the the same if you have more than three kids. You‘re basically either a Mormon who doesn’t know how or is not allowed to use protection, or at least the last one must have been an accident or something. 🤷🏻‍♂️ Just let people make their own choices for f**k‘s sake.

GitHub agent mode looks very promising but the core message about AI stays the same: AI is far from perfect, and it will NOT totally replace developers by a long shot.

I did not claim it was. But it could be, with the right effort. At least the building. Obviously flying is another story.

With electricity out of 100% renewable energy there is no carbon footprint from air conditioning. At least we’re trying to get there. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Yes, you are totally right. I always loved studying or at least being a student. I tell myself that’s the reason it took me so long to get my degrees. 🫣 But what can I say, I got older, I became a dad, and things had to get done eventually. Still awesome times.

Every year I meat up with old and new friends for a special challenge. Xletix is something I recommend to everyone looking for a fun and challenging way of forgetting about Swift for a few hours. If you’re a germaphobe it’s probably not for you. 🤪

Talking over somebody is just rude. I catch myself doing that here and there and instantly feel bad about it. Nobody is perfect.

You could feed your thesis in to AI and ask it to write an abstract. 🫣🤫 I won‘t tell anyone.

I have to deal with the same shit but the other way round. Imagine working for a German health insurance, and you‘ll have to find English words for all the insurance terms to use while working on apps for them. 🤪

I wrote my whole bachelor thesis more or less in 2 weeks. I took most of the time playing around with the example app aka proof of concept I had to add.

What's new in Swift 6.2? A whole ton of stuff – raw identifiers, Collection conformances for enumerated(), method key paths, backtracing, weak let, Observations, InlineArray, and of course a big batch of concurrency changes too. Want to see it all in action? www.hackingwithswift.com/articles/277...

Innovative Concept. I hate those people watching a concert through their mobile‘s camera. Especially because it adds more obstacles to watch through to see the stage for people that are not 1.90m +.

Swift 6 loves complaining about your static var and static let declarations. This effectively makes it look like shared instances are no longer allowed. In this week's post, I look at what the errors really mean, and how you can resolve them www.donnywals.com/using-singletons-…

Using singletons in Swift 6 – Donny Wals
Singletons generally speaking get a bad rep. People don’t like them, they cause issues, and generally speaking it’s just not great practice to rely on globally accessible mutable state in your apps.

I would pay a lot a month if the compiler errors in SwiftUI would actually be where the error is happening instead of just telling me that the expression is missing conformance to accessibility rotor what ever.
