Collapsed trachea = blocks airflow = lung blood vessels narrow = creates high blood pressure = heart pumps harder than it should against this pressure = overworked heart can fail. 0182

Before the IM consult, we agreed on weaning her furosemide but when that happened she started having her hyperventilation fits again, & her RR baseline increased while she was asleep 1131
Dog @ob-underdog.bsky.social · 24/08/2026Cardiology department said her heart looks quote big… and her mitral valve is very weak... there’s also some fluid around her heart…but we started furosemide (a med that takes fluid off heart and lungs) before the echocardiogram which means we cannot see her baseline as sometimes dog react — 1151

The cardiology department is so confused so I have to also consult internal medicine and get tests done because her trachea is also insanely narrowed and collapses often 312265
