18. Clonk Endeavour The proto-Terraria. My first game credit ever when I was a 13 y.o. (for localization). My most played game in the series. It's a wild thing. Infinitely moddable, multiplayer, sandboxy, creative, runs on nearly every piece of hardware ever. I still dream of Clonk.

17. Baldur's Gate 3 BG3 is an absolute legend of a game. It's an immersive sim mixed with deep RPG gameplay. Every part of this game has been lovingly designed and perfected. Larian wrote themselves into the history books and I imagine it will be a long time till something greater comes along.

16. Siia-sinna Läbi Linna I don't think any non-Estonians would know this one. Legit one of the best games to come out of Estonia. This game teaches you *rules of traffic*. That's it. It's very charming, fun to play, and useful, too! Just forget Disco Elysium, this one is the true OG banger.

15. Transport Tycoon Deluxe (see also: OTTD) What to say. Charming to the max. Infinitely replayable. Takes like an hour to pick up and an entire day to put down. Possibly my first addiction. Also made me realize how very stupid people (like Elon Musk) can eventually become very rich. Love this.

My first published game. It was an absolute failure on release but I learned a lot during production. Mostly about "how not to make a game" and "how not to run a game studio". The experiences were and still are extremely valuable.

14. Z On the topic of unhinged strategy games, Z comes in swinging. Made by the legendary Bitmap Brothers, this is an absolute masterpiece in the golden era of strategy games. Funny as hell, charming characters, innovative gameplay make this something that everyone should try at least once. 10/10.

13. Beasts and Bumpkins On god one of the most unhinged strategy games to ever grace this Earth. Unmistakably British, with Pratchett-esque satire, loaded with some of the weirdest plot twists on your quest to become lord of the lands. Wonderful, simple gameplay matched by excellent art and SFX.

12. Bioshock: Infinite Yeah yeah I know. Pretentious as hell, but it's hard to argue with the presentation and feel of the game. Seriously though, what an awesome romp. Philosophically and intellectually a flaccid game, but it was an excellent experience from start to finish. BOOKER, CATCH!

11. Life is Strange I don't even know where to start with this one. The level of thought and polish is wild. LiS made me want to break into narrative games even more than Mass Effect. Writing is excellent, voice acting is next level, the whole game experience is immaculate (except for the ending).

10. Urban Assault I promise, I'll get to newer games soon. But I just have to mention UA. This is a war sim with both overworld and FPS modes, meaning that you can *take direct control of units* while commanding squads to do their thing. Challenging, good worldbuilding, absolutely unhinged. 10/10.

Went to sleep but awake now again! 9. Warpath SPESH GEHMS. Very weird, casual strategy/space sim. I occasionally replay this one, mostly to remind myself that simplicity sometimes really is key. Also works in multiplayer! The aesthetic is very "90s business software", but adds to the charm.

8. Star Command: Revolution You like space games? A space game for the ages. Absolutely mental soundtrack. 4 distinct factions, each with their own strengths and weaknesses, compelling exploration and expansion mechanics, an outlier in the RTS genre. No game like it has ever been make again.

7. Clonk Endeavour Huge part of my childhood. Also, somehow, my first game credit. This is basically Terraria more than a decade before Terraria. Absolutely wonderful game (a whole series actually), can be played solo, multiplayer, it's a completely weird ass phenomenon in and of itself. Try it.

6. The Elder Scrolls II: Daggerfall I have no idea how I finished this game. It took over 80 printed out A4 pages of guides and a whole bunch of grinding to understand what was going on with the story. 11/10 game, would make a custom character who melts in the sun over and over again.

5. Age of Empries I I still listen to the soundtrack of this game as a lullaby. The game is a masterpiece of immersive design. Fog of war? City building? Progression? Wonderful. Totally insane, boundary pushing game for its time.

4. Lands of Lore: Guardians of Destiny I didn't know what an acid trip was until I played this game. I was about 7 years old. Westwood did an amazing job with this game. It was the first game I played in the series and the only one I actually finished. This is the hardest game I've ever played.

3. Diablo One of the first games I played for a longer time. I was 5. I was probably not supposed to play this game at that age but that did not stop me, my dad and my brother taking turns at the PC to play the living shit out of this game. It's the best game in the series (fight me).

2. Heroes of Might & Magic 2 Absolute classic. One of the first games that taught me the English language and forward thinking. Phoenixes are bae. Resurrect True is imba. Dimension Door is broken. Total banger of a game. Soundtrack is insane too.
