25 confirmed femicides in ON since Nov 2025. In July's cases, both accused were on active release orders for prior violence. GBV is a public safety emergency—so why are municipal safety plans treating it like an afterthought? Click here for the full report bit.ly/3RY9UGB

We count femicide because a legal loophole shouldn't cost a victim their story. Bill C-16 is a start, but leaving out trans survivors and erasing victims of perpetrator suicides isn't justice. We need systemic, preventative change. Full Femicide Report here: bit.ly/3RFpir2

OAITH stands in solidarity with Montréal following this week's tragic violence. Reports linking the suspect to an incel manifesto are a sobering reminder that misogynistic ideology is a violent threat to everyone. Online hate has deadly offline consequences.

“If you aren’t counted, you don’t count.” From hidden women’s homelessness to un-implemented femicide inquests, invisibility kills. Ontario has 16 confirmed femicides this year—stagnant since 2025. We don't need more repeated recommendations; we need system accountability. Report: bit.ly/3SiuVeN

79% of Ontario femicides happen at home. As the housing crisis forces families into multigenerational living, shifting power dynamics increase risks for older women. Housing policy IS violence prevention—it must be treated as a human right. ✊💜 Read April’s Femicide Report here: bit.ly/4tVUvmR

How the media reports on #femicide changes how we understand it. OAITH & @uofguelph.bsky.social analyzed 5 years of Ontario news coverage. The good? Less victim-blaming. The bad? Too few reports include local help lines or expert context. Let’s change the frame to #savelives. ✊💜 bit.ly/43jxW0y

On #IDAHOBIT, we recognize that 3 in 5 Trans women face violence due to harmful gender binaries. The GBV sector must challenge these structures to ensure 2SLGBTQIA+ survivors are seen and supported. Join OAITH in demanding inclusive policies and language. Justice is overdue. ✊💜 #EndGBV #IDAHOBIT2026

Our March 2026 Femicide Factsheet is live. This month, the victim was 55+ We must address why older women are often invisible in IPV advocacy. Stigma and economic reliance create barriers to safety that we can't ignore. Violence has no expiration date.

Tracking femicide isn't just about data; it’s about exposing a systemic failure. When the only alternative to violence is homelessness, the system has failed the survivor. We count every life lost to demand the resources that make leaving a real, safe possibility #FemicideOntario
