It’s all about the eyes for me 👀 . Oystercatcher foraging for food along a rocky shoreline dotted with pickle weed and barnacles. . #birdillustration #oystercatcher #marinelife #scienceillustration

A process video of a recent painting of a mink and a sea star in their marine habitat. I had fun trying new to me watercolor techniques and playing around with color. #scienceillustration #watercolor #marinelife

Seaweed field sketch from last year. The top brush mark was made with cyanotype and pressed chain bladder kelp. The rest is illustrated with watercolor. #sciart #seaweed #macroalgae #sealife

Leafing through ‘Biological Exuberance,’ Lulu Miller finds herself giggling a little (lots of unabashed drawings). But awe creeps in too. With page after page of scientific proof that queerness exists in nature, she wonders: How were we not told? buff.ly/414mxjt

I wanted to share a little corner of a larger project I've been working on. This sweet moment shows four native PNW species: licorice fern, bronze ground beetle, western amethyst laccaria, and a long-toed salamander. Much more to come! #sciart #pnw #forestfloor #salamander #sketch

Belted kingfishers are a favorite bird of mine to spot in the wild. When I was planning out this painting I learned that sunburst lichen, shown in yellow, is often found on bird perches as it is commonly associated with nitrogen rich areas. I love including relationships like these in my work.
