My SO and I watched it on my birthday and we both felt the same. Get they were doing a Homer's odyssey kinda thing but it didn't land for me. Admittedly we weren't caught up on all the shows so it kinda came out of nowhere but I just couldn't get into it.

I don't get that at all. In life people look all different ways. I don't get angry if my nurse or batista or garbage collector etc. isn't hot. The expectation that everyone has to meet some standard of beauty for them to be worthy of existing is insane.

Same. Grew up in the 90s. 90% of the games I played had males. I still love most of them. But man.. when a game had a woman protagonist and they weren't just eye candy it just felt good. Longest journey, septerra core, metroid, parasite eve, final fantasy x-2, thank you.
