We will never forget.
Twenty-five years later, we honor the lives lost and those forever changed by the horrific attacks on September 11.
On that day, thousands of New Yorkers and Americans stood in the wake of unimaginable loss, and still today families and survivors endure lasting physical and emotional impacts.
Today, we remember those whose names are memorialized at Ground Zero, the heroism of the countless first responders who answered the call with courage and bravery, the resilience of the survivors and our communities who stood united in the face of tragedy.
We will never forget.

#HappyLaborDay
Without the hard work by the women and men of labor, our state would not be what it is today.
Labor Day emerged during the height of the Industrial Revolution in the late 19th century. Back then, workers endured harsh conditions, often working 12-hour days, seven days a week, in unsafe environments. Because of the fight for labor rights, we now have 40-hour workweeks, collective bargaining, weekends, paid overtime, sick leave and lunch breaks. Today, we not only commemorate workers and their achievements but everything labor unions fought so hard for. We celebrate every hard-won benefit and enjoy the well-earned rest for many that comes with the holiday.
