Yeah, be proud of your accent! This whole accent-bashing makes me sad. My German home dialect is the least liked one and people also try to not use it outside of the region. Others use their own as a matter of course that I would wish for "my people" too.

Dialects and accents make the world so much richer and more colorful. It would be so boring if people would use only newspaper English everywhere. I want to see and read all kinds of a language, there is so much to learn from.
