Yeah I was a *tad* young for that one but I’ve seen the goal a hundred times by now, I can only imagine having watched it live!

Yeah I will forever love Chytil for that run, my top 5 would go smth like: 1. Stepan G7 OT vs Caps 2015 (duh) 2. Mika 5 goal game 2020 3. Chytil all alone/nevermind 2022 4. Panarin Stadium Series vs NYI 2024 5. Kreider natty hatty G6 vs CAR 2024 (I’ve been a fan since the 2011-12 season)

Chytil all alone! got 🥇 in Baja’s Blast #68! ggs to all :) Jesse: “I told you bow spray was good!” Theo: “this comp is not real” Tolf: “the guy who was in front” Dae: “Jesse would fine me if I didn’t play”

I’m realizing that vbow is hugely slept on in comp and in many situations is the best bow available, even in zones. I’d still classify it as a counterpick option but it’s so good into vac and bubble, into fast/rushdown weapons, and on maps with chokes. It’s not great in soloq but great situationally

From the bottom of my heart thank you riptiders for making my year, the greater community is truly amazing and is the entire reason I’m so passionate about this game. Hope to see you all and more again next September! Photo dump coming shortly :)

I wish that I could see my friends more than once a year but I’m glad that I at least have this. It’s moments like this to me that make life worth living and this has easily been one of if not my favorite experiences I’ve ever had and can’t wait until next year when I get to do it all again

Jesse @nyrjesse.bsky.social · 14/09/2026

Tried not to waste a single minute of the weekend, it’s so hard to talk to everyone and spread my time between friend groups but I tried my best. But going to the waterpark, 2am McDonald’s trip, hosting IRL among us in my hotel room (OMG IT WAS SO FUN), or just chilling. It was all so fun

Jesse @nyrjesse.bsky.social · 14/09/2026

Speaking of, holy HELL did that nickname catch on idk how Hawaiian did it. I was obv wearing my nimrod pfp hoodie (which is a green day album btw for those who don’t know lol) and countless people recognized me as that, felt like a microcelebrity almost. It’s just really cool to me

150

Jesse @nyrjesse.bsky.social · 14/09/2026

Unfortunately we never got streamed once, it felt like a good majority of teams at least got on stream at some point but oh well. Would’ve been so hype to have all my friends watching and twitch chat spamming Jesse Jetpack but maybe next year 🥲

Jesse @nyrjesse.bsky.social · 14/09/2026

My team BraveAF Bow finished 17th! We were seed 24 so we performed our seed but I’m proud of how we did especially during top 32, and lost a nailbiter set in game 5 against apisto acegal boby and tacos. Loved playing and hanging with my goats fraudsire Alibi and BraveWT all weekend they are amazing

Jesse @nyrjesse.bsky.social · 14/09/2026

I did attend last Riptide too (with my CCA team) but this time meant so much more to me since I was a lot more casual a year ago, and largely only started grinding comp *because* of how fun it was last year. Ive made so many friends since then and now know a lot more about the community this time.

Jesse @nyrjesse.bsky.social · 14/09/2026

Riptide rant time now that I finally have time to collect myself! No words can begin to describe how much this weekend has meant to me, meeting/hanging out with SO SO many cool people whether I already knew them or not. Was really just a surreal experience that I wouldn’t miss for the world.

Doesn’t top 2k matchmaking only exist after the first month of the season?

110

Jesse @nyrjesse.bsky.social · 01/09/2026

That is all, thank you to anyone who read all this. Just wanted to reflect on what was probably my breakout season comp-wise and show my appreciation towards everyone who got me here :)

050

Jesse @nyrjesse.bsky.social · 01/09/2026

and I look forward to running that group back in the future. To my former teammates in Absolution who continue to be my good friends and supporters (follow wraithspl on tiktok and youtube). And others along the way like okaysaffra and Hawaiian and so many others I don’t have room to mention.

Jesse @nyrjesse.bsky.social · 01/09/2026

Lastly, shoutouts to my most common teammates Koreki Fraudsire and Alibi, not only amazing players but great teammates and friends too, proud to qualify for SQ major with them. Also to my Gridlock teammates Nep2ne Redstcne and Neverlucky, probably the most fun comp and group I’ve ever played with-

130

Jesse @nyrjesse.bsky.social · 01/09/2026

I’ve had my rough patches this season too. Consistency was a real issue for me, for some reason I only play well when caffeinated lol. Even then, a majority of my “growth spurt” happened before this season, and my personal improvement this season was a LOT less linear.

130

Jesse @nyrjesse.bsky.social · 01/09/2026

My experience with the plus server hasn’t been great so far, which I was warned about. I’ve been ghosted more often than not, which has discouraged me from the server. It’s still a privilege to be here and I’m thankful for the recognition. I’m not gonna let the label affect who I play with at all.

130

Jesse @nyrjesse.bsky.social · 01/09/2026

Proud to be a strong rep for Bulbz Tri-Stringer in the west. I really feel like I’ve made the weapon my own and bring value where almost no one else can. Going on 7k wins now, wouldn’t be surprised if that is or is close to the most in the world on it. Yet I’m not even close to my ceiling on it.

130

Jesse @nyrjesse.bsky.social · 01/09/2026

I’ve gotten a lot more experience at a higher level which has been really fun. Results have skyrocketed this season. Qualified for sq major and won a set, which was a great experience. Got suggested and voted into +3 which was my ultimate goal for this season, and I don’t plan on stopping there.

140

Jesse @nyrjesse.bsky.social · 01/09/2026

I’ve had the privilege of meeting and playing with so many new players this season. Thank you to everyone I’ve played with along the way, it’s hard to keep in touch with everyone but the players and community are the entire reason why I’m so motivated to improve.

120

Jesse @nyrjesse.bsky.social · 01/09/2026

Reflecting on this past X/sq season. Overall happy with where I’m at, even though I didn’t hit 3k this season I do feel like a better and more consistent player and know I’ll get that last 3.5xp soon enough. My net is a LOT better at college so I should be able to grind X more consistently.
