Always been pretty close games between us and Brentford, insane some of the toxicity i've seen given to our young players from today. We've played full strength XIs before and barely managed to get pts vs them.

I've seen some peoples predicted XIs vs Brentford, thought I'd show what I would consider. Defiantly think a lot of the young lads who appeared in the travelling squad for Bilbao will play apart.

The data below covers our last 4 European matches (incl. 120’ extra‑time) + last 6 Premier League games. With our main focus on the Europa League, we need to trim workloads. Last remaining fixtures: Brentford, Athletic Club, West Ham, Chelsea, (Potential Europa Final) & Villa

Think the game wouldve deserved a draw, neither team did much. From a Manchester United perspective we lacked quality in their final third; poor crosses and a lack of aerial threats. Lack of DMs opened us up a bit in favour of creating more against a low block, never looked like scoring though.

Since Jan 1, Leeds have played 15 Championship games. In that time: Dan James: 1281/1350 mins (+150 NT, +12 FA Cup) Solomon: 1165/1350 mins (+179 NT, + 98 FA Cup) Meanwhile, Gnonto (167 mins) & Largie (145 mins) barely play. Insane they haven’t been rotated more. #LUFC

Not sure I see Ruud getting to the end of the season with Leicester, worse record than Cooper and absolute brutal fixtures for them. Any sense of progress has seemed to completely vanish, been absolutely woeful today. Wasn't a fan of Stolar being dropped, but any GK struggles with that backline.

If we look at the top 5 injured players each season, a clear pattern emerges: under Amorim, the list is largely made up of injury-prone players and fringe members of the squad. This is a massive improvement where before key players were sidelined for long stretches. #MUFC

✨ Injury Comparison: This Season vs. Last Season ✨ 🔍 How have things changed since Amorim's arrival? We’re just over halfway through the season, and if we keep up this form, we’ll see a significant reduction in injuries compared to last year #MUFC

Compared to our links/targets (Mendes, Davies, Nouri, Kerkez, Robinson) he is nowhere as good, and the data is limited since hes only played 200 minutes this season but is a free option. Most likely will end up at Porto though. Would also want to keep Alvaro at Benfica to develop more.

Should we consider a loan move for Valentín Barco given our limited budget? He’d offer a natural LB option who's heavily involved in the attack phases and while not the strongest defensively, he’d improve our structure and depth. Hard to see us spending £25-30m on a lb at the moment. #MUFC

This is probably our strongest lineup right now. Glad to see Højlund starting, especially considering who’s playing as the AMs, already addressing one of the mistakes from last game. Hopefully, if Ugarte is subbed off again, we’ll see Case/Collyer come on to maintain midfield stability this time.

A similar opportunity arose in the Aston Villa game, one that'd make us level at halftime and shift momentum. Pass was better this time arguably could’ve found Zirkzee. Bruno’s finish, however, was poor—he simply has to score. Play began with Zirkzee pressing the second ball and Mainoo’s block.

NyanZak @nyanzak.uk · 23/12/2024
Compared to his last season at Bologna, Zirkzee’s shot volume has nearly halved. Even in his Man Utd debut, despite scoring, he managed just 1 shot in 29 mins after dropping deep, linking play, and arriving late in the box—while Bruno and Garnacho had 2 shots each in the same period.
100
NyanZak @nyanzak.uk · 23/12/2024
However, he has a tendency to drop too deep at times, which limits his presence in the box and reduces his shot volume. With limited minutes, he’s averaging just 2.18 shots per game, scoring 3 goals from 3 xG—a problem both of our strikers are currently facing.

Given the injuries and lack of options at LWB, having Maz and Dalot to fill those roles is a real advantage. Their versatility has been crucial this season. If he can improve on his crosses and carries, he’ll become more important in our attacking phases. Hoping to see by the end of the season.

This was seemingly noticed by Foden and Haaland, however neither of them knew which one should be pressing Martinez, and by the time Foden attempts to press him the ball has already been launched to Amad.

NyanZak @nyanzak.uk · 15/12/2024
In the second instance, Martínez again holds until Amad’s run, this time targeting him directly, leading to the winning goal. These patterns help highlight some growing tactical cohesion and development under Amorim.
100
NyanZak @nyanzak.uk · 15/12/2024
In the first instance, Amad's run draws the defender, creating more space for Antony on the wing. Though the pass isn't ideal and Antony is marked by the time it reaches him, it results in the opposition players sitting inside their box, with us having final third control.
100
NyanZak @nyanzak.uk · 15/12/2024
In terms of his possession lost in the 1st half, I counted 12 incidents, mainly from misplaced short passes (common among multiple teammates), including one in our final third. Some passes while reaching teammates were poorly placed forcing them to stretch. Not sure if theres a reason why.
000
NyanZak @nyanzak.uk · 15/12/2024
However, with the momentum and likely adrenaline, he decides to shoot, forcing a save from the goalkeeper that keeps the ball in play. Unfortunately, much like in the first chance, there’s no one at the back post to capitalize on the rebound.
100
NyanZak @nyanzak.uk · 15/12/2024
Chance 5: Zirkzee receives an excellent pass from Casemiro that cuts through four opposition players and he plays it into acres of space for Bruno. However, both he and Rashford need to make more decisive runs, leaving Bruno ahead of them with only one viable option—Amad.
100
NyanZak @nyanzak.uk · 15/12/2024
Chance 4: Fernandes delivers a quality free kick, with Amad’s dummy helping Zirkzee get into a better position. Zirkzee get his head on it, but the ball’s pace is too much for Casemiro/Martinez to make contact. Unclear if it would’ve reached them without his touch. At least it wasn't poor play.
100
NyanZak @nyanzak.uk · 15/12/2024
So Amad does get to the edge of box he's boxed in by 3 players and Rashford/Malacia being very behind their markers doesn't give much option, very good skill to be able to get into the box and have a chance but there's just too many players marking the area and gets deflected.
100
NyanZak @nyanzak.uk · 15/12/2024
Chance 3: Again the play begins with Zirkzee’s hold-up on the halfway line, where he finds Amad in plenty of space. Although as a result Zirkzee falls over, this reduces the number of options for the opposition to mark and for Amad to pass to, creating an disadvantage in the attack.
100
NyanZak @nyanzak.uk · 15/12/2024
However, Rashford drifts closer to Amad, reducing his effectiveness as a passing option. Meanwhile, Bruno beats his man and sets up for a potential 1v1, but Amad misses the opportunity, makes the wrong pass, and misplaces it, killing the clear chance.
100
NyanZak @nyanzak.uk · 15/12/2024
Chance 2: While it was a bit fortunate that the ball deflected to Bruno’s feet, the play originated from Zirkzee’s hold-up work and his effort to get the ball to him in the first place. When Amad receives the ball, Rashford provides a wide option while Bruno moves into the middle.
100
NyanZak @nyanzak.uk · 15/12/2024
Regains control of the ball in the box, with passing options tightly marked and no one runs to open space, so elects to turn and cross it across the face of goal but gets a corner. Disappointed that Rashford/Malacia didn't run to the far post, should have instinct for the chance of a tap in.
100
NyanZak @nyanzak.uk · 15/12/2024
Chance 1: Zirkzee receives the ball on the half way line. Amad has dropped deeper than him making Rashford the only forward pass, makes a very good and gets to the edge of the box where the falling defender handles the ball and messes up his momentum.

Saw many negative comments about Zirkzees performance against Viktoria Plzeň, watched back our 1st half chances and noticed he was massively involved in them all. I believe if we scored one of them the perception of his performance would be very different. A look at those chances: #ManUtd #MUFC

Day 2 of learning Halved the pitch, colour coded shots and scaled based on xg, added a outline to shots and bolded text to help stand out Added a legend and general stats too. Next goal is to increase space outside of graph adding the information there, reducing the colours on it

Trying to learn how to scrape data & create graphics off of them. Still got a lot of progress to be made on this in terms of scaling the dots for the xg and colour coding them, but very happy with this start. Turns out letting the opponent shoot a lot in your box is not good.

Already a couple of tweaks Vestergaard returning to the team after injury, Coady replacing Faes who I've not been a fan of. Double pivot with Ndidi and Soumaré & giving McAteer, El Khannouss and Soumaré proper minutes too

Obviously many different reasons for Income and Expenditure for teams, the top teams overall arent making much profit. For us we spend more due to not having many sellable assets (overpaid players + not developing youngsters properly), so this is something I would like to see us address.
100
NyanZak @nyanzak.uk · 03/12/2024
Realistic outgoings could be Casemiro, Antony and Bayindir with a combined MV of €45m (unlikely to get max values with wages however). Developing youth players such as Amass & Collyer will help save money and considering the DNA of Man Utd + Rubens development of youth at Sporting it will be needed.

NyanZak @nyanzak.uk · 03/12/2024
We don't have many clear sellable assets this summer with a few players leaving for free (Evans, Eriksen, Lindelof). And selling any player worth money in our team would likely mean spending it all on a replacement for them.

NyanZak @nyanzak.uk · 03/12/2024
A potential issue this Summer as well as future windows will be how much we can spend (Europe qualification, few sellable assets and stadium rebuild). We've spent quite a lot under ETH and I think we should be more sensible. I hope we cap the amount we spend on players to £45m. #ManUnited #MUFC

Thoughts on Dalot (as posted earlier) at a time where people are slowly turning on him and wanting him sold. #MUFC #ManUnited

NyanZak @nyanzak.uk · 02/12/2024
I'm personally more focused on bringing in a LWB and another CM+CB. Including Dalot we have many young players who'll develop under Amorim where many stagnated under ETH, I'm not entertaining the idea of selling him unless its clear there's a big issue at the end of the season. General thoughts:
