Today I saw a #butterfly, a red-banded hairstreak, and I thought it had some parasite with creepy legs attached to it. Looked it up and no! It has fake insect legs and head at the back so predators think they're looking at some strange creature and don't attack it. Once again, #nature is amazing.

I can walk out the door, look south and see the edge of one of the arms of clouds pushing out from Hurricane Isaias. I live in Pennsylvania. The storm is over 1000 miles away but I can see this curve of clouds just to the south of us on the satellite view. #HurricaneIsaias #Pennsylvania #weather

Hurricane Isaias is offshore of the Florida panhandle but its arm of clouds curves up through the entire southeast, ending in a curve that stretches up through Tennessee, Kentucky, Ohio and then Pennsylvania, the edge of it clearly just south of Nazareth, PA where I live. It lines up with the scene from my back door perfectly.

Bridget on the #Stonehenge desk earlier. She's bewildered by all the packing and discarding going on and unfortunately spends most of the day hiding as a result. I love to see her when she emerges and goes around inspecting! #cats #caturday #CatsOfBlueSky

A cute tortoiseshell tabby with this swirly striping and a white bib and white feet (and white whiskers and a white line down her nose) in a hals sitting position on a turquoise desk pad with a few Stonehenge related things around her. She's unusual among tortoiseshell cats in having, along with the black and orange, a lot of tan coloring on her legs, muzzle, sides and on her fluffy belly. It has the effect of softening her look. Her whiskers are forward and wide and she is staring intently at something to the right of and below the frame, with a glint of light reflected from each eye. To me she's so sweet.

Few know it but @weborguk.bsky.social is the official navigator of the ship that is #Stonehenge.

At Stonehenge: a huge stone trilithon is visible in the background with a couple of smaller bluestones in front of it, then a fallen stone and closer another fallen stone on the left that ends about half way across the lower part of the picture and in front of that a man in dark clothes is seated on the ground holding a scope up to his eye and looking intently.
