Nick Weaver @nweaver.bsky.social · 10/10/2026Enjoyed another spooky season read with Eddie Brock Carnage. Eddie & Carmage teaming up to take out the worst-of-the-worst of Marvel, this book has them up against Muse & its a fun read. Recommend read for anyone who enjoy books that get about as gory & weird as Marvel Comics can get. #comicsky 030
Nick Weaver @nweaver.bsky.social · 07/10/2026Keeping the spooky reading season going with Collin Armstrong's Polybius. A town is thrown into murderous chaos just as a hot new video game hits the local arcade. A delightfully creepy 80's remix of Romero's The Crazies. Def recommend for horror novel fans #booksky 061
Nick Weaver @nweaver.bsky.social · 02/10/2026Really enjoyed Jacob Trussell's deep dive on the making of the movie Poltergeist. This book covers the history of both Hooper & Spielberg and how they came together to make this classic, as well as addressing all the controversies around the making of the film. Def recommend for film fans. #booksky 050
Nick Weaver @nweaver.bsky.social · 28/09/2026Starting my spooky reading season with We Are Where the Nightmares Go by C. Robert Cargill Fun little collection of horror shorts, really dug the nightmare clowns & the dinosaur story. Good read and worth checking out but highly recommend Cargill's book Sea of Rust if you havent read it yet #booksky 050
Nick Weaver @nweaver.bsky.social · 25/09/2026Its a great book think if Adam West Batman swapped places with Christian Bale Batman. Great balance of action & humor 020
Nick Weaver @nweaver.bsky.social · 17/09/2026Finished reading Ultimate Wolverine and I really dug this series. It was dark, action packed & at times horror adjacent. Loved Magik & Piotr's story. Lady Deathstrikes' design rocked & spoilers, I am happy Wolverine gets a happy ending of sorts. Hats off to everyone who contributed to this series. 042
Nick Weaver @nweaver.bsky.social · 11/09/2026Just finished reading Ultimate Wolverine vol. 2 Logan, and man this book was a blast. Between this book & Ahmed's its a good time to be a Wolverine fan. I really loved Warren & his design, loved Colossus as a villian, really enjoyed how this book brought in & used Jean. Highly recommend #comicsky 031
Nick Weaver @nweaver.bsky.social · 10/09/2026When you move a chair from one room to another & Sigourney becomes obsessed 030
Nick Weaver @nweaver.bsky.social · 09/09/2026Finished Tig Notaro's I'm just a person. What a lovely book, I read it expecting a few more chuckles but this book is a heartwarming story about loss & survival and moving forward with positivity. At this point if you have been on Star Trek & wrote a book, I'll read it, havent been let down yet 010
Nick Weaver @nweaver.bsky.social · 03/09/2026I adore Jonathan Frakes, so when I found out he wrote his own sci-fi novel it shot to the top of my reading pile. This book is fun, real quick read. Honestly would have enjoyed a few more chapters, get to know more about the Klar. There are some fun bits, wish Frakes would've written more. #booksky 070
Nick Weaver @nweaver.bsky.social · 31/08/2026I really loved The Dead Can't Make A Living by Ed Lin. Odd to say that a muder mystery can be charming but this book pulls it off. Honestly made me want to visit Taiwan and get some skewers. Shout out to Yu & Me Books in NYC for introducing me to this series, looks forward to more #booksky 050
Nick Weaver @nweaver.bsky.social · 22/08/2026Event Horizon is one of my favorite horror flicks & I'm ecstatic that there are more stories being told in that world. Dark Descent is good, the art is creepy, Jeffery Allen Love's alt covers are perfect This book is creepy but I'm on the fence, some stories are better left untold. #comisky #horror 130
Nick Weaver @nweaver.bsky.social · 19/08/2026I went to the museum in the movie Relic several times as a kid, really hit home, was actually a wee bit sad the novels took place in NYC lol 110
Nick Weaver @nweaver.bsky.social · 19/08/2026I like horror but as someone who grew up in Chicago I was a sucker for a Chicago movie. So the movie Relic was a cross-section of a few interest. Can't explain why it took me so long to go to the source material but I'm glad I found this series. 110
Nick Weaver @nweaver.bsky.social · 19/08/2026Just finished Reliquary & of course loved it. Once I found out there was a sequel to one of my favorite horror flicks, this book shot to the top of my reading list. Glad I read Relic before, a few changes to the story I didn't see coming. Interested to see more adventures from this series. #booksky 170
Nick Weaver @nweaver.bsky.social · 13/08/2026I had a lot of fun reading The New Avengers I highly recommend this book if you are looking for an Avengers book to read. I dug the Killuminati, I'm always a sucker for an evil Reed Rochards & Prof X. The team is fun I love Namor when he's on a team& I'm really enjoying Eddie Brock Carnage. 000
Nick Weaver @nweaver.bsky.social · 10/08/2026I really loved Alien Cult by Gavin G. Smith. I havent read a Alien book I havent liked but they tend to get formulaic. Cult finds an interesting new angle to look at the Xenomorph & its mythology in-universe. From murder-mystery police procedural to small town western showdown, this book had it all. 031
Nick Weaver @nweaver.bsky.social · 05/08/2026Star Trek Red Shirts is probably the best Trek comic I've read. This book is great the art is perfect for the story, the right amount of action & whimsical. I can't recommend this book enough & I dont want to spoil anything. The covers by Chris Shehan are perfect, fun & haunting. #startrek #comicsky 010
Nick Weaver @nweaver.bsky.social · 02/08/2026In my quest to read all the adventures of Captain Riker & the crew of the Titan, I came across Star Trek The Next Generation comic Hive. Where Riker & his crew help the Enterprise take down the Borg for the umpteenth time. Rolled my eyes a bit but this comic was a lot of fun. #startrek #comicsky 011
Nick Weaver @nweaver.bsky.social · 26/07/2026Finished reading the Star Trek novel Indistinguishable From Magic. What great Montgomery Scott & La Forge story, awesome to see both characters take the helm of a starship. Really loved the cast of characters in this book, wish we had more adventures with them. #booksky #startrek 070
Nick Weaver @nweaver.bsky.social · 22/07/2026I believe Takeover is the 11th book in the Galaxy's Edge saga I've read & it was still a highly entertaining page turner. Highly recommend this series to any sci-fi military fans. Really enjoyed the new POV in this book, get to see the Galaxy through the eyes of the private contractors. #booksky 070
Nick Weaver @nweaver.bsky.social · 16/07/2026Just read Hidden Prey by John Sandford. My first 'Prey' novel & I dug it. A solid 'airport paperback', weird to say but, there is something charming about this series largely taking place in the Midwest, places I recognize & even been. I'd definitely give another book of Sandford's a read. #booksky 020
Nick Weaver @nweaver.bsky.social · 11/07/2026Mulder & Sigourney settling in for an afternoon movie. #caturday 080
Nick Weaver @nweaver.bsky.social · 10/07/2026Thunderbolts Doomstrike is probably the last One World Under Doom tie-in I plan on reading. Wish they would have given a few more villains the 'Thunderbolts' twist but this book was a lot of fun, another solid addition to OWUD. Always enjoy a new Ghost Rider and the new Citizen V was cool. #comicsky 040
Nick Weaver @nweaver.bsky.social · 08/07/2026Peter Benchley's White Shark was a fun summer read. This post Jaws shark adventure was packed with a lot of positive shark facts & was far more silly than scary but I liked it. I had fun, I always enjoy that we get sea monster pov in Peter Benchley's books. #booksky 050
Nick Weaver @nweaver.bsky.social · 06/07/2026I picked up at couple Pensergast novels when I got this one. Excited to read more! 000
Nick Weaver @nweaver.bsky.social · 06/07/2026Finally read Relic by Douglas Preston & Lincoln Child. The book one of my favorite horror movies is based on. Little sad the book takes place in NYC instead of Chicago, like the film, and wild the film didnt have Pendergast in it, but I really dug this book regardless. Highly recommend #booksky 170
Nick Weaver @nweaver.bsky.social · 02/07/2026This monopolized my reading for the last week or so but finally finished the X-Men Age of Revelation event. There is a lot of fun stuff is this event but imo its a bit too big & too short at the same time, an issue #4 would have turned several good series into great ones. Still worth checking out! 010
Nick Weaver @nweaver.bsky.social · 20/06/2026Happy #Caturday from Mulder, I'll be here if anyone needs me 071
Nick Weaver @nweaver.bsky.social · 18/06/2026Wrapped up Alexander Freed's Alphabet Squadron Trilogy. I really liked this series made me nostalgic for the old Rogue/Wraith Squadron novels. Alphabet Squadron is probably my favorite addition to the new Canon Novels. Highly recommend for any Star Wars fan. #booksky 051
Nick Weaver @nweaver.bsky.social · 12/06/2026Finished Ben Percy's run on Red Hulk Mission Latveria. Not a direct tie-in to One World Under Doom but this book is all Red Hulk vs. Doom's reign. I'm not a Hulk guy but I really liked this series. It had the right amount of Hulk science/body horror & prison breakouts. Highly recommend! #comicsky 020
Nick Weaver @nweaver.bsky.social · 04/06/2026Just finished reading Doom's Division another great One World Under Doom tie-in. I love Tiger Division and enjoyed them being apart of this event. Also really dug the semi-X-Men crossover in this book. The cover art is incredible, the covers of issues 2 & 3 are favorites mine. #comicsky 010
Nick Weaver @nweaver.bsky.social · 30/05/2026Set up a cattrap this #caturday so far caught 2, Izzy doesnt look happy about it 080
Nick Weaver @nweaver.bsky.social · 29/05/2026I did not know i needed this book until now. Thank you! 100
Nick Weaver @nweaver.bsky.social · 29/05/2026Just finished The Independent Command by James Doohan & S.M. Stirling. The 3rd & final book in Doohan & Stirling's Engineer series. This series didn't reinvent the sci-fi trilogy by any means but I really had a lot fun with these books. Definitely a recommend read for any Star Trek fan. #StarTrek 140
Nick Weaver @nweaver.bsky.social · 21/05/2026Superior Avengers is truly a Superior tie-in book. I loved these new 'heroes,' the story is fun, the dueling art & color styles gives this book a delightful cosmic horror vibe. I had no idea Doom had a son. Doom, obviously, is a fascinating parental figure. Highly recommend reading #comicsky 030
Nick Weaver @nweaver.bsky.social · 20/05/2026Just finished One World Under Doom & I really loved it. I don't/haven't read much Fantastic Four so I'm not that familiar with Doom & definitely never read him as a main character before. Issue Four was incredible. Art & covers rocked, best Marvel event in a minute imo #comicsky 030
Nick Weaver @nweaver.bsky.social · 10/05/2026Just wrapped up Benjamin Percy's The Dead Lands. A fun post-apocalyptic cross-counrty adventure. Reminded me a bit of The Stand meets Beneath the Planet of the Apes. I always love a books that take place in Saint Louis, even future apocalypse Saint Louis. Recommended read for horror fans #booksky 040
Nick Weaver @nweaver.bsky.social · 07/05/2026I fell off my reading wagon for a sec but I'm back Finished reading Exceptional X-Men The Deep End by Ewing, Canero & crew. One of my favorite books of the relaunch but it helps that 3 of my top fav characters are in this Plus loving the new students & who doesn't love a Mr. Sinister story #comicsky 030
Nick Weaver @nweaver.bsky.social · 24/04/2026Remember You Will Die by Eden Robins. An AI's journey and processing after the loss of her 'daughter' throw a series of obituaries. Everyone in this is bursting with character. Some are sad but most are really fun & beautiful. I lost someone recently & this book was oddly comforting. #boosky 000
