Behold my cat in all her desk-hogging glory.

My very large short hair brown mackerel tabby lounging on my desk. She is lying on her side with her tummy, which is the color of a perfectly toasted marshmallow, completely exposed. She is secure in the knowledge that I am aware of the horrible fate that awaits me if I touch it.

When they cut down that huge tree in front the old YWCA building downtown because it was dying, they planted a new one. But it now looks like the old tree wasn’t completely dead and is trying to come back.

A sapling tree has been planted in a raised portion of earth that is covered in bark dust. Sprouting up about a foot in front of it, where the trunk of the old tree was, is a cluster of bright green leaves of the same type as the old tree.

Sadie has Concerns about the noises my mango jarrito and its ice are making.

Sadie, a chunky brown shorthair tabby, is staring in consternation at a fizzing freshly poured glass of mango jarrito and the ice cubes swimming in it. The fur on her cheekbones is puffed up, which is her personal tell that she is uncomfortable with what is going on.

The last one reminds me a lot of Polychrome, the Rainbow's Daughter from the Wizard of Oz series.

Uhh, bad news, folks. Someone left a crimson behelit in the community garden at my building.

A crimson egg-shaped object about the size of an ostrich egg sits among seashells and other garden tchotchkes. Across its surface are scattered facial features that do not currently make a face.
