Can we all agree YouTube adding that pink bit on the seek bar was really stupid? It looks dumb

"the police don't think I did" is a staggering reply. This guy is a TV presenter, he knows how insane that sounds in a headline

Again not entirely. Tillis, for example, is in a very very vulnerable Senate seat and would never hear the end of it if he had chosen to nominate gaetz. The gop are not free from consequences. Midterms in less than 2 years and already chaos. These guys don't want to lose their seats

They absolutely did make comment. Senator Collins said she was shocked at the decision and plenty gop members gave statements to the press saying it was going to be a real battle to get him nominated. It's not about "this person said no" though, you've got to read how they react. That's telling

I... Really struggle to understand how you have those as two different things in your head. It's a waste of time because the pushback was too strong. Gop members of the Senate refused to vote for him. That's pressure. That's political fallout.

Sure on the accountability but the demonstrable result of the reaction to the nomination is that he is no longer the nominee. Trump didn't get his way. He's had to pick someone else (who is also shit, mind you) and if that's happened once, it can happen again. He's not immune to political fallout

Means he doesn't have unilateral ability to do whatever he wants with no pushback. He made a horrible choice for AG and nearly everyone told him so. Pressure was applied and gaetz broke, giving up. It means there's still opportunity to push back on his plans and have them fail

His options for avoiding them are thankfully tiny. 2/3rds majority for any constitutional changes and even the supreme Court ruling only protects him from personal liability. It doesn't mean he can unilatiraly enact laws. All about delay in the courts which Washington state is very ready for

It's absolute hell. At the very least Google drives tools are pretty good but the we all just accept this is how it is, is bizarre to me
