Nuno Freire @nuno.site · 09/07/2026I think they are going to sell XBOX. This new director was brought in to clean the house before they sell it. At least it is what it looks like. 020
Nuno Freire @nuno.site · 21/06/2026And what is the algorithm to judge good from bad content? Low effort rage bait is considered good content? Still feels like a race to the bottom. 020
Nuno Freire @nuno.site · 21/06/2026Deterministic problems should have deterministic outputs. There is a place for stochastic processes but surely not every problem needs a bloody model. 000
Nuno Freire @nuno.site · 19/05/2026It broke my brain. Now when I read something I automatically start looking for signs of AI rhetoric sloppiness. 🥲 121
Nuno Freire @nuno.site · 10/05/2026Reason for Arc was of course AI and chasing that sweet money. Then they were sold to Atlassian I think. 010
Nuno Freire @nuno.site · 10/05/2026Oh, so we are getting to TDD again, but this time it's Token Driven Development. 000
Nuno Freire @nuno.site · 10/05/2026Have you tried Zen based on Firefox? I was a big fan of Arc before it imploded and now Zen is a pretty great substitute in terms of UX: zen-browser.app The only thing lacking is it doesn't sync the workspaces, but I guess eventually we will get that.zen-browser.appZen BrowserBeautifully designed, privacy-focused, and packed with features. 210

Nuno Freire @nuno.site · 04/04/2026Saying something is a killer product because it is used by many people is a weak argument. MacDonalds is use by many. Funeral agencies. Microsoft Windows. They solve a need. The product isn’t necessarily good tho. ChatGPT is a good search tool with large flaws but more convenient than Google. 010
Nuno Freire @nuno.site · 25/03/2026This is like arresting Al Capone for tax evasion. We need to plainly ban those in the EU at least. No sane society should accept camouflaged data harvesting and privacy evasion. 010
Nuno Freire @nuno.site · 24/03/2026Saw your post on Reddit, didn't know it was you. :) Good one. Also created mine recently'ish. Did use LiveView and MDex which is pretty cool! Even allows me to use Phoenix components in the markdown! :D 000
Nuno Freire @nuno.site · 16/03/2026In Portugal it has meaning. It means a very specific type of diet (more or less grilled food with olive oil, fish based mostly! :D). But surely other countries in Europe will have different meanings as our food is pretty different. Dunno how it is interpreted in America. 000
Nuno Freire @nuno.site · 15/03/2026I sweated a bit too, but then something re-wired on my brain and it suddenly got way easier. :D 020
Nuno Freire @nuno.site · 15/03/2026130 hours right now, but I reckon I got 100% around the 100 hours mark. 110
Nuno Freire @nuno.site · 15/03/2026All soundtracks for SuperGiant Games so far have been stellar, but this one in Hades 2 I think it takes it to another level. 010
Nuno Freire @nuno.site · 15/03/2026I generally don't 100% achievements in games unless I REALLY like them. For Hades 2 I had to do it, such a good game. The music, the gameplay, the balance, the variety of builds, dialogs, artwork. The magnus opus of Supergiant Games (so far). 230
Nuno Freire @nuno.site · 08/03/2026Agree. They should focus more on building ways to interface with AI than just shoehorn some AI crap feature into their product just because. 020
Nuno Freire @nuno.site · 03/03/2026I thought about the same. 🤣 Zed is for sure banned in the UK now. 110
Nuno Freire @nuno.site · 03/03/2026That's probably because of AI product compliance? But it is weird AF. 😁 100
Nuno Freire @nuno.site · 02/03/2026This is super cool. I have been thinking for a while to create a game too, just to embed on my website with multiplayer also using Elixir (my site already uses Elixir and Phoenix). But I haven't found a game I would like to replicate that is easy enough and fun. Lumines is a good idea! Good job! 100
Nuno Freire @nuno.site · 02/03/2026I've written a small post about adding flag icons in Phoenix using the same technique that the Phoenix generators use to add the heroicons set. nuno.site/blog/2026/fl... #BlogPost #ElixirLangnuno.siteFlag icons in Phoenix · Nuno's SiteEasily add country flag icons to your phoenix app using a Tailwind plugin. 050
Nuno Freire @nuno.site · 25/02/2026They are probably telling the truth, since XBox is dead. Now it will be called Microsoft Gaming and those, well, those will have to use AI for everything. 000
Nuno Freire @nuno.site · 25/02/2026I've been paying for 1Password for about 4 years now, I really like the apps the integrated SSH agent, but come on, this is a MASSIVE increase. For someone in Portugal I can't justify steep increase. Already cancelling my subscription and moving back to Bitwarden or Proton. 020
Nuno Freire @nuno.site · 23/02/2026I've used them for about 2 years on a startup and they worked pretty reliably I must say. This was 3/4 years ago though. 010
Nuno Freire @nuno.site · 23/02/2026If the price is good for last mile instead of Fiber to the home it could be a solution I guess. For instance where I live there are some cables on poles which are damn ugly, maybe this could be a solution to that. 020
Nuno Freire @nuno.site · 21/02/2026I've written a thing about AI (who hasn't amirite?). nuno.site/blog/2026/ai... #BlogPost #ainuno.siteAI Fatigue in the Age of Agents · Nuno's SiteI use AI every day. I find it useful. Sometimes even impressive. And yet, I’m tired. 100
Nuno Freire @nuno.site · 18/01/2026Oh so the sync thing you pay them is just for convenience, got it! I might look into Obsidian again then if I migrate from iOS and MacOS. To be honest, been hating what they been doing to MacOS. A Framework laptop looks appetizing once I need to upgrade. 010
Nuno Freire @nuno.site · 18/01/2026How do you sync? You just sync files to a cloud service? Can you edit on mobile/tablet too? Last time I looked into it, it costed like 4 dollars per month to have syncing across devices. 110
Nuno Freire @nuno.site · 17/01/2026I use Bear for my long form writing and Personal Knowledge management. I thought about changing to Obsidian but the monthly cost is too high for me to justify. 130
Nuno Freire @nuno.site · 13/01/2026You are doing this to be US-free in terms of services right? I have this action point to do the same for some time now... but I haven't put the effort in yet. :/ 000
Nuno Freire @nuno.site · 12/01/2026I haven't done that but what I've done several years ago was uninstalling any social media apps. Reddit was the only one left and that was a problem too, but once they killed custom apps that was it. I don't even use WhatsApp anymore since that is a Mark Cuckerberg app. People can always use SMS. 010
Nuno Freire @nuno.site · 08/01/2026Great read. Totally aligned with the games (haven’t played Deadlock tho). Hades 2 is simply marvellous. I had my doubts how different it could be from the first one, it’s the same game, but so much more refined, I can’t stop smiling while playing with all the sweet details the game has. RIP Patrick. 000
Nuno Freire @nuno.site · 05/01/2026Who asked for this? Now seriously, not even taking the AI hate train, just wonder who uses a TV and feels the need to generate slop on a big screen? Bizarre. 040

Nuno Freire @nuno.site · 23/12/2025To be honest I think it is. After the shitstorm that Twitter became after Elon Trump took over, I rather have a boring predictable feed than rely on an algorithm that can be exploited for agenda driven malicious players. But I know most people want the For You experience of TikTok nowadays. 010
Nuno Freire @nuno.site · 23/12/2025👀 PS - Not the author, found it on Reddit, don't know the source. 020
Nuno Freire @nuno.site · 22/12/2025Depressing for sure, especially considering the alternative could be something like Mastodon was growing but it is not, the alternative is Xitter. Personally I deleted my account and I’m not going back even if Bluesky sinks. 210
Nuno Freire @nuno.site · 19/12/2025Is this related to everyone trashing Mozilla, Firefox for AI and stuff? I still use Firefox and really hope it is here to stay. The web needs it. There is no space for virtual signaling if its survival is on the line, it’s my stance at least. 010
