WTF? Making the tenant pay extra for the owner's insurance is ridiculous. And refusing to fix things you rent out is illegal. Regrettably, no-one can get away with screwing you over like family can. I'm really sorry... but yes, get out. There's a lot of good landlords out there as well.

Bitter-sweet... my best friend would have needed it. Breast cancer 6 years ago, cured because early diagnosis. 4 years later it came back, metastasized immediately. Fought it for two years, until it proved resistant to all treatments and she died last Christmas. May it save others from that fate.
