The body itself being no mod is awful because it's THE core part of your avatar. Everything builds onto it. Every excuse I've heard backing nomod has been BS as well. "People will break it and bother support" they can redeliver. "People will steal UUIDs from appliers" make the applier script no mod.

For anyone wondering, the post says "on Windows" but it also works on Linux following the exact same steps.

because spending those two days is a journey that develop your own problem solving skills and your ability to grow and learn. relying on claude is just getting a product out for the sake of getting a product out. And you better be verifying the output else it's gonna screw you in the long run

And most importantly, even if none of these things were true, it's still nobody's business to judge regardless!

Please be vocal about not using AI. We have to normalize it. No "I'm not going to say that because it should be assumed. I'm not going to give them this". We don't have time for that shit ideological shit right now. NOW is the time to capitalize on waning favorability. Ppl want human made

people hated on raid shadow legends sponsors (for good reason) but i would genuinely rather see that over brilliant (uses ai) or incogni (deceptive marketing) at this rate.

Can confirm writing descriptions is honestly the worst part of selling on the marketplace. The reviews don't bother me as long as they're honest (which of course, I have in fact received a dishonest review before, thankfully LL removed it.) The rest also sucks.

likewise sensitive to frequencies that some people can't hear. and the problem with that is that the video editor probably cant hear it. :(

i also prefer survival games with a definite end. what are you surviving in minecraft or space engineers? they feel more like sandbox games disguised as survival games a majority of the time.

nul @nulshift.net · 14/07/2026
the annoying part about most survival games is that the survival part is trivial but tedious. oh no monsters spawn at night, its a good thing you put up walls! oh you better eat food that you've mass farmed because you're hungry! And then most of the time the game doesn't scale with the player

honestly physical media had an advantage that no one talks about. if you have to physically load and unload media, there's more commitment to playing that game. its a good motivator for starting and finishing a game!

I used to just use raw ass notepad. Not even notepad++. To make mods for a game back in the day. People kept insisting that I should use Notepad++. I kept refusing. Thought I was better for formatting my own code and with no highlighting. Nowadays I'm grateful I don't run into as many errors lol

You're allowed to sell GPL licensed software. Fun fact, even if you're not the person who wrote it. Source: www.gnu.org/licenses/gpl...
If I distribute GPLed software for a fee, am I required to also make it available to the public without a charge?

No. However, if someone pays your fee and gets a copy, the GPL gives them the freedom to release it to the public, with or without a fee. For example, someone could pay your fee, and then put her copy on a web site for the general public.

One time purchase with a big asterisk. You get one year of support and updates, then have to renew after that. But they don't revoke any access to any versions released during your support period. Also it's GNU GPL licenced so we're allowed to redistribute it for free, if anyone wanted to know.

i've said it a few times already but i'll repeat. bluesky was never the place to migrate to from twitter. it had the same warning signs written all over it. it was just a matter of time. never trust a place that is fully free with zero monetization. because you become stats for the highest bidder.

cool and all but its not their first time both doing something really dumb and also saying they'll speak about changes before making them its becoming a pattern.

And sorry, want to clarify since I said "never trust a place that's fully free" and then later proposed Mastodon. The difference is that Bsky is a service and Mastodon is software. Free software is fine. We have a ton of it on our computers. If you can host it yourself, it's usually okay.

Though I'm probably just yelling into the void here. I know that's on me, I never really did anything to grow my popularity or anything. But it does suck to have good insights into how things work but go largely unheard when shit hits the fan repeatedly. Ah well. I could use less distractions. ByeBS

I only came here because this is where most of the artists I was following went. But even most of them either just posted both here and twitter, or went back to twitter entirely. I think the only real alternative is Mastodon, which, of course, has its own issues. But at least it's not censorship.

tumblr did this same exact thing right before getting sold. they make it really good for us to build up a userbase. userbase is very shiny, investors and buyers like seeing a service with a big userbase. but oh no! theres scary stuff here "make scary stuff go away before we buy pls and thanks"

What bothers me, there's artists who say it's okay for code, and programmers that say it's okay for art. I see it a lot in gamedev discord servers. But like you say, it's 'believable' if you don't know better. It takes observation to see whats wrong with the art, logic to see whats wrong with code.

If we forget how to translate things ourselves (as humans, I'm aware I only know English and that I'm part of the problem), especially since language is evolving. Then not only are we going to misunderstand each other, but when AI collapses, we will have immense difficulty because of the dependence.

nul @nulshift.net · 30/05/2026
I've talked about ai translation and how bad it is before, but people seem to sweep this one under the rug a lot. I get it, it's convenient. But the scariest part about it is that its replacing actual translations. And it's not accurate. But people believe it because they can't verify it themselves.
