Society in Shadows is an urban fantasy live action role playing game where players take part as supernaturals facing off against the dangers that threaten our world. Our latest major update is the Revised Shammas, one of SiS's playable supernatural classes. This rewrite expands the Shammas' connection to the natural word, introduces new abilities and progression options including the Path of Storms and Path of the Warband, and is the first of several expression rewrites we'll be rolling out over the coming months. SiS staff will be on hand throughout the weekend to admit new supernaturals to the LARPing world. Their headquarters is in Booth #23.

We welcome your nerdom in all styles! So please feel free come dressed up as your favorite game or characters. As a reminder we are a family-friendly event so cosplays must be PG-13.

Who you gon' to call? Nuke-Con has brought back our local Ghostbusters to keep the halls of the convention safe from the ghosts of the season. "We are Ghostbusters:Nebraska! Omaha's only franchise registered with Sony/Ghost Corp. We are a not-for-profit cosplay group that helps local businesses and non-profits at no cost for appearances."

This is a position for a people person. We don't ask the Volunteer Coordinator to round up people, but they do need to be able to work with lots of different types -- because Nuke-Con runs on its volunteers. None of the staff is paid a salary; we are all volunteers. For most of the year, the Volunteer Coordinator tracks the staff hours at our Out and About The Coordinator will be busy for perhaps half a day six or seven times over the year.

When Mike says that he likes to show off his models and his table full of spaceships, he means it. He was at Nuke-Con last year and we loved talking with him and just seeing the joy he has. The collection ranges from minis to ships to helmets -- and even some framed pictures. If you remember seeing a ship in the Star Wars universe, you'll find it at his table in the main game room.

The Registration Desk is the first stop for people who attend Nuke-Con's annual convention. It's where they get their badges and ask their questions about the convention. The Registration Coordinator is the link between the payments coming in and the badges going out. For about nine months out of the year, the Registration Coordinator has minimal responsibilities. They can manage the small trickle of people who register during that period by checking email about once a week and making sure reminder social media posts go out as deadlines approach.

How ya gonna game without merch? We’ve got posters and pictures! We’ve got rings and earrings and belt buckles! We’ve got tiny fantasy people in full plate armor and feather boas for full-sized real folks! Books with stories already in them and other books to keep track of your own dreams. Not to mention the games. And dice -- so many dice!

Staffer Steve here, With the upcoming Heroscape Tournament at Nuke-Con this year, I’m pretty excited about all the various prizes we have on hand already, as well as the prizes that will be arriving between now and the con. In particular, I’m really excited about the new heroes that can be won at the tournament. For instance, “Taelord the Kyrie Warrior” just arrived in my mailbox over the weekend.

Holy Cross Lutheran Church is hosting Nuke-Con and all our friends for an all-day game event. In addition to the games and good times, there will be food available on site. The charge is only $4 if you bring one or two (or a bagful!) of non-perishable food items.

Hello our lovely Gamers! Nuke-Con is partnering again with Extra Life for our charity raffle with the proceeds from all the Extra Life events going to Children’s Nebraska Foundation! A reminder of how the raffle works: $1 gets you one ticket; $5 will get you 6 tickets at the Extra Life booth. On the table at Extra Life there will be bundles of goodies to choose from.

We are looking to bring in new topics that might interest gamers of all types by providing a space that will let folks showcase their nerdoms. We have a some people who've expressed an interest in panels, but we'd really like to have a Panel Coordinator - a point of contact for all things panel-related and keeping communication open between the con and individuals interested in running panels.

GREETINGS AND SALUTATIONS! Staffer Steve here; Many of you know me as a Nuke-Con Board member. Some of you may recognize me as a familiar face at the Con. Some of you may have seen me as an occasional special guest at the Con. Some of you may have heard of me as that staffer guy who talks too much. Some of you also know me as an RPG writer and designer.

With Nuke-Con less than 3 months away we want to remind you that you should buy your badge! You can buy a whole weekend badge for $45 and kids 12 and under (with a paid adult) are $6. As Staffer Steve has so wisely said "Get your badge now while its fresh on the brain. Not next week, not the day before the con starts, but right now!".

We are on the hunt! Previously we have had the Gamer Garage Sale where you had to lug the games you hoped to sell to the con (and back home if they didn't). We're looking to make the switch to a Virtual Garage Sale with Nuke-Con hosting the virtual space. We're thinking it would run similar to BGG's Virtual Flea Market and are in need of someone to keep it on track.

This weekend Nuke-Con will be hanging out and playing games at Heartland Pride! We’ll be there celebrating and teaching games. We love to talk about games - stop by and let us teach you some! Gaming at Youth Pride will be at the Holland Center this Friday, July 17, from 5-9pm, and at the Festival Saturday, July 18, from 12-4pm.

Our first Aftershock of the year will be at Bellevue Public Library 2206 Longo Drive, Bellevue. on May 16th from 9:30 am to 4:30 pm. We will have a conference room off of the main library area so you'll be able to find us. Admission is free. Game registration is now open! Because of space limits, this Aftershock we're looking for board games and card games especially. Offer up your favorites to a whole new community!

Thank you everyone made suggestions for our new Mascots' names. Please welcome Haz Max, Raddius and Trinity to the Nuke-Con family! Haz Max Euro-type board games is Haz Max's regular pleasure, but he really shines in the abstract game category. You would not believe the thinking power in that headblock. Raddius Raddius is a fan of wargame minis. He finds his sword most useful in reaching across the long tables to move the pieces.

The year is wrapping up and so is our early bird pricing. You have until end of day December 31st to get your badges for Nuke-Con 2026 October 2nd-4th at the Mid America Center. If you have already gotten your badge but you know someone who would love to come along, buy them a badge, too! You both can have a fun-filled weekend of gaming, adventures and stories galore! Extra life was a success! With everyone's efforts Extra Life raised a total over the weekend of $1,387 dollars! Thank you for everyone who played games, bought raffle tickets (and donated raffle prizes!) and contributed at the Extra Life booth. All these helped us raise so much for the Extra Life!

Nuke-Con 2025 has come and gone in the blink of an eye. We had an incredible weekend with many good times! The sounds of dice and laughter were a delight amidst the murmur of everyone being lost to the many worlds laid before them. Thank you to the Ghostbusters for keeping the Mid America Center and all of us and safe from ghosts and ghouls.

The 3D Makers Emporium is a growing business that sells 3d printed articulated models as well as dice towers, coloring books, dice, and more.

Matt Bach started The Board Game Wagon with his own collection and then it became a non-profit organization in 2017. With more than 1,500 games available they are going to host worlds of fun for us at Nuke-Con! Please come by and check out their games!
