I needed to grab a coworkers paper quickly so I searched for it by keywords and Gemini not only hallucinated a first name from "A.", it decided on a common mens name and referred to the researcher as he. Her name is Alex! which is even in one of the documents cited!
Google search for "Levinsky shielding NASA"

"AI Overview

Andrew Levinsky is a researcher at Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) who collaborated with NASA on radiation shielding design for Fission Surface Power (FSP) systems. [1] (https://ntrs.nasa.gov/api/citations/20260002520/downloads/Levinsky_CP_MultifacetFSP_RadShield_20260002520.pdf), [2] (https://epubs.ans.org/?p=proc:3466&pg=2)

Core Project Focus

Levinsky and his co-researchers authored a paper titled "Multifaceted Considerations for Fission Surface Power Radiation Shielding Design". This work addresses how to build shields for nuclear reactors deployed on the lunar surface to protect human habitats and sensitive hardware. Unbelievably weird behavior to leverage my post about breaking my foot to try to pick a fight about a particular nuclear power plant. Tbf nearly every interaction Patty has had with me has been a weird attempt at picking a fight but truly wtf. Perfect use case for nuclear (ha ha) block

The other side of the plane also has a redheaded woman lying down painted next to the nameA photo containing many missiles in a very tall building, including Atlas, Titan II, Minuteman (II?). The missiles are viewed from the second story which minimizes the view of the nozzles but highlights the sheer size of these lads. Very imposingA photo snapped of Katie looking at the Tactic Blue, a stealth bomber with a weird looking duck bill in the front. As I do not have an aviation history special interest, I was reading the panel asking wtf is this thingA picture of the crew capsule from Apollo 15. It looks pretty brownish, tinged with flame as one would expect from an object that reentered the earths atmosphere

Panel reads:
APOLLO 15
COMMAND MODULE ENDEAVOUR
Apollo 15 was the most scientifically-focused mission of the Apollo program. The crew – Commander David R. Scott, Command Module Pilot Alfred M. Worden, and Lunar Module Pilot James B. Irwin – spent almost 12 days in space (July 26 – August 7, 1971). The Command Module "Endeavour" was the home for the three-man crew on the journey to the Moon and back to Earth.
Apollo 15 was the first mission to use a lunar rover. Scott and Irwin used the rover to explore the moon's surface, spending more time outside the spacecraft than on any previous mission. Endeavour orbited the moon for 6 days while Scott and Irwin explored. Worden, independently and alone, photographed the lunar surface from Endeavour with a wide range of cameras and sensors. This included a new panoramic camera and a laser altimeter.
Project Apollo's main goal was to land Endeavour on the moon and safely return. The Apollo program accomplished its mission and established the United States as the leader in space exploration. Between 1961 and 1972, the program achieved 33 missions, 11 of which were manned. It also helped the United States establish its leadership in scientific and technological innovation.

Nuclear nonproliferation is good actually
Norman Rockwell's Freedom of Speech painting.

Wikipedia on the painting:
Freedom of Speech depicts a scene of a 1942 Arlington town meeting in which Jim Edgerton, the lone dissenter to the town selectmen's announced plans to build a new school, as the old one had burned down, was accorded the floor as a matter of protocol. Edgerton supported the rebuilding process but was concerned about the tax burden of the proposal, as his family farm had been ravaged by disease...
The blue-collar speaker wears a plaid shirt and suede jacket, with dirty hands and a darker complexion than others in attendance. The other attendees are wearing white shirts, ties and jackets. One of the men in the painting is holding a document that reveals a subject of the meeting as "a discussion of the town's annual report". Edgerton's youth and workmanlike hands are fashioned with a worn and stained jacket, while the other attendees appear to be older and more neatly and formally dressed

At that point, make it a global disarmament project! If you're just making stuff up anyway, why say we should make a new unimaginably large weapon instead of saying we should put all the world's weapons in one place and make them go boom all at once. Two birds, one stone!

This is the entirety of their "analysis" on the yield. No, not joking, this is all there is
Section 2 Yield Calculations
To calculate an effective yield for the nuclear explosion, we will have to make a few assumptions:
1. Every year, approximately 36 gigatons of carbon dioxide are emitted into the atmosphere.
2. We want to sequester 30 years worth of carbon dioxide emissions.
3. Through ERW, 1 ton of basalt can sequester 0.28 tons of carbon dioxide[Beerling et al., 2020].
4. The crushing work index of basalt is 22[Ram Chandar et al., 2016].
5. In a seafloor buried nuclear explosion, there will be approximately 90% efficiency in pulverizing
the basalt.
From these assumptions, we can calculate that 1.08 trillion tons of carbon dioxide should be sequestered, 3.86 trillion tons of basalt are needed, the crushing energy needed is 3.05 ∗ 1020j, and a nuclear explosion yield of 81 Gt is required. This is orders of magnitude larger than the largest nuclear explosion ever detonated, so this is not to be taken lightly.

Yeah this quality of writing is just embarrassing. Not that I would agree with a better-argued proposal, but come onnnnnn. This is the kind of writing a high schooler produces in a timed, closed-book prompt exam when there's no way to pull additional relevant source material
Section 4.3 Political Feasibility
Nuclear weapons have been a pressing global issue for decades. There are many treaties that have successfully reduced the proliferation and testing of nuclear weapons. Even though the nuclear device proposed in this paper has no strategic military value, it would still violate all of these
treaties against the proliferation and testing of nuclear weapons. Attempting to detonate the largest nuclear device ever created would certainly affect the delicate situation around nuclear weapons, but these effects can be mitigated. First, it would be clear to everyone that the purpose of this explosion is to sequester carbon. Second, special exceptions to the treaties can be made for such an important problem. Third, open communication would reduce the tensions around this
project.

The NRC shall, in consultation with the NRC’s DOGE Team (as defined in Executive Order 14158 of January 20, 2025 (Establishing and Implementing the President’s “Department of Government Efficiency”)), and consistent with its governing statutes, reorganize the NRC to promote the expeditious processing of license applications and the adoption of innovative technology. Also calling @whatisnuclear.com a "mindless hater" is truly unhinged behavior
Isaiah Talor on Twitter/X, referencing Nick Touran aka @whatisnuclear: "Honestly, you are the most arrogant person I have ever interacted with on the internet. This is so so incredibly funny
When Valar announced it would join the lawsuit, Taylor published a blog post on the company’s website that claimed that the company’s reactor was so safe that someone could hold the spent fuel in their hands for five minutes and get as much radiation exposure as a CAT scan. Touran questioned this claim, leading Taylor to post the numbers behind the company’s analysis on X. Another nuclear engineer ran his own calculation using these inputs, finding that holding fuel under the conditions provided by Valar would give a “lethal dose” of radiation in 85 milliseconds.
