My mom recorded every episode onto Betamax off the air. I still have all of the tapes. Digitized them.

I have a very similar setup (even down to the round grille!) but it’s dumping into my little server room instead. There are several air outlets from there for circulation.

I, with the help of a friend and ChatGPT, fixed a tektronix RM529 waveform monitor the other day. Broke about 15 years ago. Ended up being 2 open resistors. Maybe I should do a channel!

I wondered about this as an owner of 3 “phone key” cars but apparently at least this brand has better than average anti theft rates. You can argue the practicality of having to buy a $500 key fob vs a $20 card or use your own phone as one.

I was always excited to see the color bars test pattern. Even the stations in NYC when I was little did this. Early 80s. Tape automation made it possible to stay on 24/7.

Both work but yes the pc duster is just refrigerant. I worked at a place that went through cans and cans of it so I expensed an air compressor to replace it. Probably saved 200 cans.

My dad has been talking about this since the early 80s! I remember the first “CFL” he brought home and put in the dining room light, a long PL style bulb sticking out the top lol. Long before the swirly kind.

What I have noticed is that some of the anti EV crowd NOW accepts the hybrid as “the solution.” When presented with an all around better technology, they still want to cling to the one step behind.

YES! And imagine if EVs were the standard and the car industry tried to sell us on gas? Hey forget your ev get a gas car, it’s less efficient, costs more to maintain, needs frequent maintenance, oh, and you have to go to a PLACE to get fuel for it and the price can change wildly.

I’ve been following the non-Tesla charging network stuff via the “state of charge” channel. I’ve also thought of a future where batteries are *so cheap* you could have one at home that slowly charges and should you need to dc fast charge at home, it just dumps that battery charge into your car.

Their 800v vehicle is also embarrassing. Hopefully they will announce something this year, if they want to stay competitive.

I wonder what the cost will be to do it… I’d imagine new (or reconfigured?) rectifiers and also cables rated for it. And be able to do both voltages. Probably in the hundreds of millions.
