Today is the one-year anniversary of finishing my recent @naturemicrobiol.bsky.social paper's final draft 📝. It is also my son's 1st birthday 🐣. Seems like a good time for an explainer thread! (1/n) @archaeal.bsky.social @quendi.bsky.social @sarilog.bsky.social www.nature.com/articles/s41...

Got to visit the Cedar Creek LTER this week! I jumped at the chance to contribute to their chronolog of this spot by Fish Lake—you can never have too many lake photos! Now home to @ntl-lter.bsky.social

LTER sites, including us, make our data publicly available and LOVE IT when other researchers use the data! PLEASE CITE THE DATA! That's how we can track use and demonstrate to our funders that the dollars are well spent (allowing us to collect more data for you to use!) #openscience #lter

NTL LTER samples 11 lakes year round and the data are publicly available! Seven lakes are in northern WI and have been monitored since 1981. The other four lakes are in southern WI and have been monitored since 1995 (although some records are 100+ yrs!) lter.limnology.wisc.edu/core-study-l...
