Otters are found throughout Nova Scotia in all kinds of wetland habitats, including rivers, lakes, coastal estuaries; these two were seen doing this graceful coordinated swimming duet in Taylor’s Ponds at Plaister Cliffs, the property protected last year through our In Our Nature campaign.

In Nova Scotia’s wetlands, skunk cabbage emerges in March by generating its own heat, melting snow, and resisting frost. Its heat and odor attract early insects, and it’s one of the first foods eaten by black bears after winter. #Conservation #EcologyandConservation #ConservationScience🌎 #Halifax
