The biggest reveal is that the game will screw you over if you don't have your avatar levelled properly (it's okay, the game is willing to wait 25 turns- I mean chapters until your avatar is properly built)

Then Nosferatu helps him survive against the onslaught during enemy phase. If he's struggling compared to your right side, you can send Camilla squad once they arrive (usually Selena with Beruka) to support the left side, so Odin and Elise can go back to the center to support the main crew

Out of the two mages you have (Odin and Nyx), Odin has workable defenses for this chapter. I found him useable by pitting him against the Oni Savages on the left side (give him a defense and magic tonic and pair him up with someone you're planning to pair him with, like Elise)

The game might have extremely... questionable writing, but I do still remember gameplay being a bit fun, which is more credit to it than some games I tried. That and seeing angry lobster hair seething for 25 turns as he plans my death.
