The NPLE needs your help! We need local folks to make their voices heard, to help us win our fight for a fair contract. We're at day 78 now, and have entered mediation, but we cannot win without you!
A flyer with text describing the Nashua, New Hampshire Public Library's employee union's fight for a new, fair contract. We need support! Local folks can help by attending Trustees' meeting on the first Tuesday of every month at 7 pm, and speaking up during the Public Comment portion. Folks can also help my contacting the library director, Jennifer McCormack, jennifer.mccormack@nashualibrary.org; the city mayor Jim Donchess, nashuamayor@nashuanh.gov; and the city Board of Aldermen, boa@nashuanh.gov

Nashua, NH - The Nashua Public Library Employees, AFT, FPE, LOCAL #4831, as of today, July 1st, are working without a new contract in place due to failed negotiations with the Nashua Public Library Board of Trustees.
The NPLE declared impasse on June 23rd after numerous negotiating sessions with management. The significant areas of disagreement revolve not only around wages but also job security and working conditions as the public library is set to undergo major renovations over the next eighteen (18) months or more.
NPLE Co-President Mary Ellen Gilson expressed the following on behalf of members, “The library is not just a building but it is brought alive by the small but able staff that develop and deliver exciting programming and excellent service to the citizens of Nashua. Any renovation plans need to respect staff in the renovation process and make certain that the transition and continuity of services is adequately supported by the valuable and experienced existing staff.”
The parties have jointly filed a request for the appointment of a contract mediator through the Federal Mediation and Conciliation Services.
