Thankfully you dont need to have played the first to play the sequel. New story, new characters and new city. The only thing that connects the two is cthulu aesthetics. The first one was a very bland and CTRL C+V open world. Combat, player movement and everything were all janky. Not here though.

I've been having an AWESOME time with #TheSinkingCity2 💪 The switch from dull open world to tightly designed survival horror is a welcome change and fits the games aesthetic very well. Its HEAVILY inspired by modern Resi and Silent Hill. It looks and feels great! 🤌

We checked out the "Lara Croft, 30 Years On" display today, just down the road from the old Core Design studio 🙌 As a Derby citizen, its so cool having all of this video game history on my doorstep 🎮 It even included the PC that still contains the original source code! 👀

As well as Tomb Raider Anniversary, I've also finally got around to fully playing #ForeverSkies following the Echoes Updates. (And not just for work reasons 🤣) For a game I already technically have hundreds of hours in, Im genuinely having a blast 🙌

I've stayed pretty quiet on social media about this so far because of my job...but there it is. Players should be able to truly own the games they buy and be able to keep them forever. If you play video games... Buying only physical is ok Buying only digital is ok Not having a choice is not ok

Silent Hill f is excellent and deserves more love. If we're talking indies, I would recommend checking out Still Wakes The Deep, Tormented Souls, Post Trauma and Signalis. If Outlast is the type of thing you're looking for then id pick SWTD. Ill check out Hollowbody, thanks for the recommendation!

Scariest is hard to say, as most survival horror games have a specific area or moment that's scary, but the rest of the game isn't as bad. Overall, I'd say the scariest is maybe the Silent Hill 2 Remake by Bloober from 2024. Are you looking for recent games or more classic horror games?
