I tell students not to take online tests in Wendy's parking lots because of poor Wi-Fi and it's kind of depressing. I guess the emo album "Songs to Listen to in the Wendy's Parking Lot" made that joke real. www.usatoday.com/story/money/...

Delaware County Community College Moves to Cut Counseling
The community college issued layoff notices to all of its part-time and full-time counselors, citing budget concerns and possible plans to outsource services. Delaware County Community College shocked faculty and staff when it warned its entire counseling department of layoffs set to take effect this summer. College leaders argue they need the cuts to shrink a budget gap, but counselors are fighting for their jobs, arguing their services can’t be outsourced.

Years ago in a labor-management meeting admin offered to pay for an extra interview if social equity identified a scholar of color that wasn't short listed. In response, a union leader said that if the individual wasn't on the shortlist they might struggle to make tenure. Both sides were wrong.
